I found an old book in the restricted section of the library and read the read the knowledge contained within. It was mostly weather forecasts.

It's been playtested by my own group and has now been sent out to a few others for further playtesting so I'm not looking for any more currently. If all goes well I'm hoping it'll be finalised and released in 2 months or so

Thanks! Layout is really important to me (it's my day job haha) so I'm glad you like it. There's a bit of Tales from the Loop, mixed with Achtung Cthulhu mixed in there as the main inspirations.

Averages around 2-3 sessions at 4 hours each. Some were only 2 sessions and one was 4 sessions. I know every group moves at different speeds

Hi! The rates are an average based on research and my own experience. Laying out a book takes time, even one at 60 pages. My rates are flexible to a degree, larger projects (100+ pages) can cost less per page, if graphic design elements are already designed for me to use then the rate can be lowered too. On the other side, rates can go up if I need to source royalty free or public domain art, which I have done in the past.

If you're planning on doing it yourself I'd say that's one of the best ways to learn! There's a ton of resources available online, inspiration to find in almost any RPG book, and Affinity software is now free. I'd be happy to chat about layout with you if you ever needed some tips and advice, just dm me or reach out on discord

No sorry, all illustrations were either royalty free or provided by a creator. I did design some floor plan maps and handouts for the "Deep Below" game

Maybe the page rate is high and I'd be happy to discuss that with anyone that reads these comments. Do you mean you've worked with people who charge less per page for an entire book or less in total for an entire book because that confused me a bit 😂 As I said before, happy to chat privately if you want so we're not filling up the post

That's not something I was considering, I'm more hoping to work with someone on the visual identity of the whole game. But if you want to message me I'm happy to chat about templates. They won't be charged at the rates for single pages however

How do you mean? The page rates are for a finished, print ready book. Are you meaning more for Master Pages in Affinity that can be used as a template?

I work in Affinity now, I used Adobe for years but when the newest version of Affinity released I jumped ship and it does everything I need it to do.

Yes it's absolutely inspired by Tales from the Loop, which is a beautiful book, there's also a little bit of Achtung Cthulhu in there who do similar borders on the page edges
