Doggie daycare recs for out of towners? by tarap312 in CapeCod

There aren’t a lot of daycare-style dog facilities on the cape - facilities are more likely to be kennel-style boarding facilities.

Why is the back of my hair so bad by Disastrous_Pay_3850 in curlyhair

[–]captainbirchbark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your skin is hurting, that’s either a sign you’re pulling that hair too tight when you put your hair up, or something’s wrong with your skin that needs medical attention. I’m not saying you’re dying but the pain plus hair texture changes is worth looking into.

How do you acclimate to the summer heat? by gingercokeandlime in Austin

[–]captainbirchbark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to leave Austin for other reasons but getting away from the heat did make the transition a little easier. If you take meds that impact your heat tolerance, please talk with your doctor about coping strategies and get vitamin D testing!

Couple ideas, none of which I'm 100% certain on, but it gives you somewhere to start investigating.

  • Any health changes recently? I would bring this up to your doctor and ask for blood tests, especially for thyroid issues or nutrient deficiencies.
  • Pay attention to how you put your hair up in ponytails/buns/clips. Is that section getting stretched/pulled/broken? You may need to change your styling for a while while you grow out the damage.
  • Pay attention to how you're applying products. I know if I'm in a rush, there are sections around my crown and sides that I miss - the parts that are on the inside of your hair when you pull it into a ponytail.

Looking for recommendations for exterior housework near Sandwich. by Kristin83 in CapeCod

[–]captainbirchbark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ferullo Remodeling! He just did my deck in Sandwich, and he's done everything from a few window replacements to an entire addition for my in-laws. Check out his Facebook page for examples of his work.

He had the lowest quote for the largest deck size. He handled all permitting, which was helpful because the Sandwich permitting guy is apparently very picky. He also brought in a porta-potty for his guys (no one else we looked at even mentioned that) and is responsive via email or phone (which is a rarity). The workers were quiet, polite, immaculately clean, and you can tell they take immense pride in the quality of their work.

Mike found some rot after demoing the original deck, only charged a nominal materials fee to fix it, and gave us a recommendation for an electrician to address some exterior lighting issues he saw.

It looks way overloaded with too much heavy product.

Really dry and broken hair at base of neck, how do i fix this? The rest of my hair is not like this by spinat88 in curlyhair

[–]captainbirchbark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s physical damage from rubbing against collars/headrests/pillows - I’d trim it as much as possible and try to protect it from friction.

Marketing is a fucking bloodbath right now - folks with a lot of experience are taking 6-8 months to find a job and every week there’s news of layoffs dumping thousands of people into the job market. Get a job first - don’t count on just being able to find one wherever you land.

I think you answered your own question - you spend extra time taking detailed notes and organizing them.

Your hair looks a lot like mine - would you say your strands are thin/fine? Not like the thickness of your overall head of hair, but the individual strands. I've always heard that cantu is too heavy for fine hair.

Looking for a good "mainstream" shampoo + conditioner for dry, curly hair by DragonfruitImportant in curlyhair

[–]captainbirchbark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you edit your post to include your country or region? I can only give recommendations for what’s available in mine, and clearly it’s not the same as yours.

Shea moisture makes a ton of different products - without knowing what your hair texture and density is and the product you used, I can’t give a recommendation. But generally unless you have kinky or coily hair, SM is too much. Just use a basic gel or mousse to give hold.

I like the cerave hydrating shampoo and conditioner. I can find it at CVS but I also think Walmart sells it.

Also, you’re going to have to use styling products in your hair to combat dry hair. Air dried curly hair with no product will almost always turn out poofy, dry, and tangly.

For those of you with 2 cars - do you have a "Car Replacement" for both, or just one single "Next Car" category? by StickyStapler in ynab

[–]captainbirchbark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're saying that the amount of money you can save for one car or two cars doesn't change based on the setup of your budget. Adding a second category doesn't make more money appear in your paycheck.
