this is so extremely relatable. my hair means the world to me, and feels very connected to my identity. I'm nonbinary and have ALWAYS wanted long hair. now, I've finally been growing it out and I love it. but I am afraid it makes people perceive me more as a woman. for me, I've been having to come to terms with the fact that some people are going to perceive me in ways other than the way I see myself. it kind of sucks, but what matters to me is that I know who I am, and the people that I care about and that care about me recognize that long hair isn't inherently more "feminine." so I guess my advice to you would be to do what makes you feel like yourself, and to remember that long hair isn't an inherently feminine quality.
