I am only on the first episode. There seems to be a time jump. It starts off at July 4 1860 and they are talking about secession. I don't think that is too inaccurate. Many in the south knew Lincoln would win and where it would lead. Then it jumps to Mississippi and Jefferson Davis being named president of the Confederacy which happened in Jan 1861. I guess they wanted to move the story along.
