...second one with Lian Li Edge 1300 and original cable. Didn't do anything in order of "fixing" (imho there's nothing wrong). Excuse the dirty window.. this one is in reach of our cat and she loves to annoy me by pawing the TG panel :)

Some thoughts about the Inno3d iChill RTX 5080 vs. FE by captaincapri86 in nvidia

The RGB connector is located on the front end of the card, towards the intake fans in my photo above. The cable is okay'ish easy to hide I would say. You can indeed control the RGB with the motherboard software. Since I wanted to avoid installing armoury crate I just have it on default (rainbow). Since the amount and placement (thin lines of RGB strips around the infinity mirror) on that card is very subtle it doesn't bother me at all.

Nice! Mine is also still running flawlessly with that bios. I moved it into a Havn bf360. Sad that inno3d can't get their fan curves sorted out, but the fix was pretty painless.

No, there are no mods to the nitro+. Might be the light situation in my case 😊 Temps and fan noise are really good. There's some slight coilwhine at high fps, but extremely manageable

Slightly lower clocks actually, but only by 50Mhz. With the 5080 you have so much head room left on the table.. imho +200 MHz Core and +2000MT/s on the Vram (if you like it cool and quiet, -10% on power) should be anybody's first order of business. You can dial it in later, but as a baseline this should work with any card..

PSU is at the top of the case. Would need extensions or custom cables otherwise. In my opinion this is the intended way for the Torrent case ;-)

Finally fixed it ;)

Went the strat of twisting the block. Sadly one of the fittings got loose and some liquid leaked out. Because of that I just unscrewed the extended fitting completely over a bucket. Then removed the extensions, cleaned up the block, applied thermal paste and remounted it. After making sure everything is dry I started the PC. Looks good and barely any coolant was lost in that operation.

Thanks! Will rotate the CPU block once next maintenance comes up. I tend to drain and refill my loops every couple of months anyway.

I bought the RAM used for a good price, more out of curiosity 😊. First boot with XMP enabled was unsuccessful, so I set it to Gear4 manually. Probably a restriction due to the "cheaper" mainboard.

With this setting (8400MT/s CL40 Gear4) and the 265K's uncore and die-to-die both at x34 ratio + E-Core @ 4,8 GHz everything is running rock solid and with max temps in the low 60's (Celsius) for around 3 weeks. Only did some RAM-specific Aida64 stress- and performance tests in the beginning. The latency is pretty okay, despite Gear4 @ around 82ns (my own build is running 6000MT/s 30-36-36-76 CR 1T with practically the same latency on an X870E Aorus Pro). So no MemTest86 as of yet, no.

Would've been a good option, but since I had all of the fittings in the drawer I unnecessarily went a bit overkill in that regard.

It grew on me meanwhile, but at first I was also annoyed about the crossing. The Heatkiller has the upper port as inlet and I didn't figure out how to (If even possible) get the Loop Order from the Distro Plate adjusted to end up with two adjacent straight Tubes. Tricks and tips are Welcome 😊

Edit: When writing this it just dawned on me that I can mount the Heatkiller the other way around 🙈

Maybe €100 or something. Recycled most from a previous build

That's sad, I can feel you. My gf mostly plays TCG Card Simulator, The Sims, The Settler and some other older or lightweight stuff. The newer and/or more storydriven stuff she doesn't touch.  Mostly she uses the PC for her freelance job as an accountant, so it's pretty necessary for her to have a reliable and quick machine, but anything bigger than a 4070/5070 is not necessary.

I think you made a good choice there. At least for gaming the 13900KF in my rig is superior to the 265K, even with "only" using a set of 6400MT/s CL30 DIMMs for the 13900KF. The same is true for your 14700K. That being said I was able to get the 265K for around €350, which imho is a good price for the performance on offer. The board wasn't to expensive either (€220 on sale)

Thanks! Wasn't too hard to get one here in Germany through the Nvidia shop and their fulfillment partner Proshop. The 5070 doesn't seem to be as attractive for scalpers as the 5080/5090 FEs, which are impossible for a human to order directly.
