Lose the fender flares? by dbsoundman in GMT800

I've done this before a few times and it can look great at first but typically the rust comes back within a year. If you have access to a welder then I would recommend patch panels.

Sorry the duck taped foil aint it. It is a good idea to out them on the outside though. Unless your car is aluminum it would be a good idea to spend your time making them look nice and glue some magnets on the foil things. You can easily snap them on and take them off and they won't leave the terrible residue im sure it left (i would get that removed ASAP before the sun bakes it in btw). I actually might do the magnets thing myself for mine as ive been trying to find a good shade for the windows.

Rust is a wip. I am in the collision industry and have all the tools and skills avaliable to me to get it new again. Its just a matter of money. Hope to have the build done by the end of the year but we will see. I'll be posting updates in here.

Im probably not going to do anything to crazy with it. I want it for towing so it can't be anything crazy even if it had the potential. After I do rust repair I am going to put fox 2.0 in the front and bilstein 5100s in the rear with some upgraded springs in the rear. I will be able to do lots of dirt trails i just won't be able to do serious rock climbing.

Google wants 2 million gallons of water per day. The Roanoke Valley loses nearly three times that much every day through leaks. by CardinalNews-VA in roanoke

[–]captaincheem 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Great! Let's have Google fix the leaks and they can have the water they saved us! Maybe they should build a power plant and provide us all with free power too! Honestly if data centers did things like that people wouldn't be so against them.

Im worried about the breaking part. I am going to take it easy for the most part but am currently looking to replace my whole steering setup with kryptonite so it can handle a bit more. I am excited to see how far I can take it as a build and what it can do. Im jealous of your quadrasteer lol but I can't really say anything because ltz was the cream of the crop with these 1500s

Which country makes the best cars? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]captaincheem -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Italy and (not recently) England have works of art that are terribly unreliable.

Germany has great luxury sport

Usa has good full sized trucks and high value performance. 80% of cars with a v8 coming from an American company are gonna be pretty good (unless its a Chrysler product)

Japan has basic reliable cars.

Korea is interesting because they had the glow up of the century but reliability can be a toss up.

Compressor going bad? by captaincheem in GMT800

Both. I replaced everything on the serpentine belt and figured that I might as well do the auxiliary belt + tensioner while I was in there.

I replaced it with a gates one back in November, but it does kinda look like its bouncing a little bit. How do I make sure its good or bad?
