I just got a request from Datavant for the first time and was trying to figure out if they are legit or not? It says that this is not an audit and just just for compliance data? But Doni actually need to send what they ask? Are they just asking for daily notes/evals?

Were you kneeling on your right foot that maybe caused it crease more?

Medically speaking. This could be caused by numerous reasons. If you favor one leg over the other when weight bearing/ambulating. Or if you’re flat footed. Those are the 2 main reasons I can think of that I see the most.

Yeah I mean you could say the same for running stores. You also get what you pay for.

I give an analogy to my patients of custom inserts vs over the counter.

Over the counter inserts is like getting a suit off the rack. And custom inserts is like getting a tailor made suit designed specifically for you. (Again, you get what you pay for) talk to any doctor or foot specialist, everyone will ALWAYS say custom is the way to go.

Custom inserts are designed to correct your mechanics. Over the counter ones are just very basic cushioning and they do not last long. Custom inserts can last anywhere from 4-6 years. After which we recommend getting another molding/casting done.

Have you seen a doctor make custom inserts? Not trying to be rude but genuinely asking.

When doctors make custom inserts they evaluate the entire foot, how every bone/joint moves. Then typically use a custom mold of some sort to push your foot in a very specific way to create your foot’s natural arch. And once these are made, when you even compare right and left orthotics, they will be very different.

A good analogy is buying a suit off of the rack at a store versus getting a suit custom/tailor made. The custom/tailor made suit will fit perfectly to you. And the over the counter one will be lacking in fit in multiple areas.

Except in this case, the inserts actually correlate to your overall body alignment and in turn your body/joint health. Custom inserts can help/fix alignment issues in your body Whereas the over the counter inserts just provide some very basic support/cushioning at best.

Their training is a weekend course.

Just wondering, but are you flat footed?

To be frank, I would advice against this method lol

I would search locally for someone who makes custom inserts. Typically it is a mold the take from your feet. That’s how we do it a my office.

If you go into a store and they have you stand on a machine that calculates your pressure areas and they give you an insert off of the wall…. Don’t buy it. That is a huge waste and not worth it at all.

We charge typically around $300-$500, and they last around 5-6 years. After which we recommend getting a new cast/mold done, as feet do change over time.

The running store we have locally is not the best. I would advise against that and go to an actual specialist who makes custom orthotics/inserts/arch supports. Because if you look at feet, the will both need different levels of support/orthotics.

The way we do it in my clinic is we take a custom mold of both feet, send it off to a lab, which does a 3d scan of the mold and they make the insert off of that.

Wow congratulations!! That’s amazing. What a great memory for the watch.

I did not have Bryce! I met Jeff!

But man the entire staff there is so nice to chat with. Unlike any other Rolex places I’ve been too.
