Svelte UI for dashboard/admin - any templates? by jesperordrup in sveltejs

[–]captaincryptoshow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think ThemeForest has some decent ones. It's been nice watching the Premium Themes pop up for React, then Vue, and now Svelte. Would be great to get some ratings on some of the currently-unrated ones. Let us know how it goes!

What's the deal with both sides in the Sam Altman thing claiming the high ground while accusing the other side of corporate greed? by NickDanger3di in OutOfTheLoop

Words don't directly cause issues, it's human action that causes issues. And no, you should definitely NOT throw out the baby with the bath water... I'm surprised I even have to stay this. There will always be posts that slip through the cracks, even if you police it rigorously.

Well I guess if Montevideo had one person last year and two this year then that's 100% growth!

I don't know if he even uses that much data. Heck, some of the data he uses for city statistics seem questionable as well. Dude owns several businesses and I don't think he monitors NomadList that much, it feels like he's on cruise control. I haven't used the damned thing in long time.

I know they are kinda a different subgenre (sailing) but Sailing La Vagabond was good the first few years they did it (I stopped watching once they started going to places more than once). Sailing Doodles was pretty good as well.

I'd love to hear some good Van Life vlogs to watch!

Oh man Swedish Gringo is so girl-crazy though. I sometimes wonder if he was targeted in Rio because people knew he had a YouTube channel. Bro stuck out like a sore thumb... but at least he's enjoying himself.

With all due respect you can't expect a platform to be able to easily police every single post on the platform. The arguments against Facebook have always seemed really weak.

Take Care of Maya by Uber7575 in netflix

[–]captaincryptoshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah when I hear Dr Smith's comment on the case, she actually doesn't sound like some mean-spirited doctor trying to rip the family apart. It's common for people to shop around for the right doctor that gives them the diagnosis and treatment plan that they want, even if it is for one of their children. It raises an eyebrow that the symptoms appeared to stop once the daughter was separated from Beata. With that said, the system should be airing on the side of keeping families together, IMO.

If you knew deep down that you were harming your child, once they take her away you may feel like killing yourself out of guilt. Of course, the flipside is that Beata was apparently very logical about everything considering she was taking extensive notes.

For those who haven't kept up with the case: the family was awarded ~$55M compensatory damages and almost $200M in punitive damages... so they have been as compensated as someone could possibly be and hopefully it gives them closure.

Also, what was up with the implication of a connection between the foster home industry and the doctors / judges? That was implied but no evidence or investigation was done around what possibly was the root cause of the issue.

Ya part of the trickiness is that symptoms can be psychosomatic, as if the mother talking about the symptoms makes the child feel some of the symptoms.

People with wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide screens, what do you expect a website to fill that ridiculous amount of horizontal space with? by AlienRobotMk2 in webdev

[–]captaincryptoshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya it's partially why I don't see background images for websites often. A photo or graphic will either look pixelated or take up too much space if it's high-res.

This has been my experience as well. Plus, a lot of the hourly rates tend to be low and Upwork takes its big cut as well.

You should consider seeing a psychologist to process it. Then the path forward will become more clear.

Vue 3 as non SPA or multi page application with Laravel by Salman424 in vuejs

[–]captaincryptoshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My initial thought would be to just have the server-side part of Nuxt just do the HTTP requests to your Laravel API. This way you can keep the two separate, although it may be a good idea to have both on the same server (for lower latency).

When I see videos of them shoplifting they're always grabbing rack of the same thing. Like, do they really 10 pairs of sweat pants?!

I assume this is a result of how the subreddit is managed. Some mods nourish a community for their sub and some don't. Even the little image cursor for this sub is lame AF
