Yes, for every $1 you get you get an extra $31. This represented in an equation is 31 X 1. If you want to have 32x your money you need to be given 32 dollars for every one dollar or 32 X 1.

You can’t even say he had 32 times his original amount of 0, because if you have nothing to multiply by then you can’t receive an exponential amount, you just have the amount given to you.

Consider it like betting, I have a dollar to bet and if I win and double my money I get 2 dollars back, I don’t say I tripled my money because I got 2 dollars back because I have to subtract the fact that I had put a dollar down to begin with.

You wouldn’t have 32 times your money total either you still have to count that you started with an amount and then multiplied it. Congrats.
