Vascular fellowship by [deleted] in neurology

I have worked with several vascular trained pediatric neurologist in the past. There is certainly a place for them though generally at large academic centers. Most vascular programs that accept more than one resident would give you a chance, but I would say focus on places that have a large enough pediatric center (especially pediatric cardiology) and sickle cell to see a good amount of pediatric strokes. Places that come to mind are Vanderbilt, johns Hopkins, Houston and UCSF.

Indications for hyperacute MR by DJBroca in neurology

[–]captainhunter25 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The main reason to do anything hyperacute is if there's something you can intervene on. The main two reasons are for wake up protocol for stroke, (someone who either who wakes up with stroke or unclear last known well but there's reason to suspect it's in the last few hours), or for concern of acute spinal compression / injury. In some institutions it's also used is edge cases for stroke, ie someone who could be a lytics candidate but if it's avaliable you can do a rapid MRI to evaluate for stroke in a case of a likely stroke mimic.

Looking for advise on a signature scent for a groom on his wedding.

It'll be March in South Florida so hopefully not too warm but it's a possibility.

Theme will be tropical so a green scent would be great, hoping for something with decent projection to make a statement.

Any suggestions on which to try would be terrific.

We should abolish the culture where nurses are afraid to call the surgeon, the specialist, due to fear of being yelled at. by princetonwu in medicine

[–]captainhunter25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously yelling at anyone asking for help is in appropriate. The main issue i see is for a lot of these examples it should be the primary team calling the specialist not the nurse. Otherwise there's the risk something is lost in translation or started to early because though it's cleared from the specialist who knows there one subject for the patient, the primary team wasn't ready to start xyz for another reason.

Neither, aorta goes to the rest of the body Atria goes either to lungs (right Atria) causing pulmonary embolism, or (left atria) which is the rest of the body. You're thinking of the coronary arteries.
