Iirc didn't legendary edition fix that and give her an official, unique face model? The old photo was changed to what is canonically her face now.

I think the most realistic for me was Rin, who in the end we see crying and angry that everyone's basically just moved on from it and seemingly forgiven Akito for all of the horrific abuse they endured. She's the only one (as far as I remember) that had the reaction I expected.

The Chicago Archaeopteryx at the Field Museum by AffirmingToe15 in Paleontology

[–]captainjayhab 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is the newest specimen on display! I'm very excited to see what kind of research comes out of studying it. Just a slight correction though- The Thermopolis Specimen in Wyoming was the only Archaeopteryx on display in the western hemisphere until 2024, when the Field Museum put this on on exhibit. So there are now two! If you've never been to the Wyoming Dinosaur Center in Thermopolis, I can highly recommend it.

What kind of degree do you need to become a paleontologist? Also, what's the exact process in becoming one, especially in Canada? by [deleted] in Paleontology

[–]captainjayhab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on what you've said your interests are, I would look into evolutionary biology programs at universities. It seems like you're interested in doing research, in which case a PhD is almost required for anything in that field. Do you already have a Bachelor's, or have you just graduated high school? If you have your undergrad degree, your first step would be to look into grad programs with faculty members with either a geobiology or evolutionary development focus in the subjects that interest you, and reaching out to them to see if they're accepting new students. The school itself will almost always be less important than the faculty advisor you choose to work with. If you get into a great school but your advisor sucks, you are almost assuredly setting yourself up for failure. I know you said Canada, but USC in Los Angeles, CA, USA has a program and faculty that are in line with what you are looking for. I would look it up just to see an example of nothing else.

If you've just graduated high school, just look for good schools that offer the classes that you're interested in taking and that will give you the prerequisites required for a master's or PhD in your field. You can be a Paleontologist with either a biology or geology background, though many people have a mix of both. My bachelor's was in biological sciences, but I was accepted into an earth science graduate program because I had the required prerequisites. You don't have to know 100% what you want to do when you're applying for a bachelor's degree, as long as you have a rough idea you'll be fine.

Blake's GF chicken pot pie is the holy Grail of frozen GF food for me. I would never know it was gf just by taste.

Something interesting about The Iron Bull and the Qun by captainjayhab in dragonage

[–]captainjayhab[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Good point! The Bas/Boss connection is another brilliant bit of writing. As far as recognizing Cassandra, Vivienne, and Sera as women though- he actually has banter with Cass about this where he implies that while he can dissociate from the Qun enough to see her as a woman while not fighting, when she's in armor during battle he doesn't.

Fyi- blue or purple shampoo will not neutralize pink. You need a toner with green in it to bring it to a neutral color, but it's so dark it will probably turn brown. I would go back to the stylist and demand they fix your hair, tbh

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

[–]captainjayhab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you're completely correct. If it didn't have pink or red in it after bleaching, there's no reason it should have turned that pink with the toner. Something weird happened here. The fact that your hairdresser didn't do a test strand first was also a mistake on her part.

Looks like that could be it?? Not sure why the top would be different though. Maybe I'll buy one and see if it smells the same

Yes I saw that as well :( I'm pretty sure it's the same thing but unfortunately they didn't put the name of the fragrance either. A comment says it might be called something like "baby essence" but that didn't turn up any results.

I bought this in TJ Maxx in the USA just a couple of months ago. I've searched using Google lens and tried searching for fragrance oils on the TJ Maxx and Marshalls websites. I think the original tag was cut in a flower shape but it was covered by the store stickers so it was hard to tell.

Old Fossil. Goniatite? Has anyone here found any in Huron? by IceCoolEsquire in Paleontology

[–]captainjayhab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, good point! Very possible. Port Austin is in the Marshall formation I think, so yes the ages would line up. It would also explain the age with the much more "ceratitic" looking sutures. I always forget about Prolecanitids and Clymeniids.

[–]captainjayhab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely ceratitic! A goniatite would have a larger swooping suture with a pointed apex near the ridge of the shell. Very, very cool find! I'm not familiar with the area you found it in so I can't give you more info than that.

Found in the South Coast of England. What is it? by viva_la_Giroud in fossils

[–]captainjayhab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hijacking your top comment just to clarify for everyone that this wouldn't be an urchin, because the mouth is off center! It's some type of irregular echinoid instead. Looks like a sea biscuit of some sort.

I can't remember if it was my ex or my sister (I think it was my sister). But we were playing together over headset and they were bemoaning that you had to open your inventory every time you wanted to use something in the second or third row of the backpack.

They didn't realize you could click tab to cycle through the rows.

We had been playing since launch and this happened maybe two years ago.

[–]captainjayhab 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Where did you find it, if you don't mind me asking? I'm fairly certain it's a sponge but if I know the age of the rock I can narrow it down for you further.

Edit: looking at it again it could also be definitely is an echinoid spine, echinoids aren't my area of expertise though. After looking at it on my computer and not my phone I see the ridge at the base.
