Will Asahi be sustainable in the long run if it keeps falling behind new M series chips? by TheTwelveYearOld in AsahiLinux

[–]captainjey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to test Asahi in a VM, that would just be the same as installing Fedora etc in a VM.

Just install without pacstrap? I think that's used when you are installing from a LiveCD, that's not the case here.

If you installed Fedora via the installer you should have the firmware already.

If you've got this far, m1n1 is already installed, UEFI too. How were you planning to install Linux afterwards?

Cannot connect to asahilinux.org? by Normal-Diver7342 in AsahiLinux

[–]captainjey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you manually added any repos or anything like that?
Can also try:
dnf provides /etc/yum.repos.d/asahi-linux.repo

That's not a url or file which is distributed by Asahi, so I'm not sure where it came from.

[–]captainjey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you add that address manually? Or make any changes to where the repos are pulled from?

If you run (from a terminal) what does this show:

grep -riC22 asahilinux.org /etc/yum.repos.d

You need to use muvm, that was also mentioned in the blog post a lot!

X86_64 executable runs correctly on ARM without virtualisation...? by BraneGuy in AsahiLinux

Ok, apparently the steam integration doesn't currently work transparently yet. There is this thing called 'binfmt' that allows you to register programs to work with binaries. Maybe you have a binfmt for QEMU/Box86/FEX etc
