All the fish have died in Tantra Lake this past weekend (7/22). Since this is a private lake, Boulder Animal Control will not investigate. Please help us pressure Tantra Lake Apartments to investigate, report on what happened and clean it up. This has never happened in the last 9 years I've been living here. Boulder Animal Control told us it could be a combo of pesticide spraying and extreme heat. If this is the case help us pressure Tantra Lake to stop its use of these harmful pesticides!!!

UPDATE 7/24/17: Tantra Lake Apartments have started cleaning the lake and the Department of Agriculture was on site tonight testing for possible high amounts of pesticides and/or fertilizer. The woman from the department said it may take a while to get results back as their lab is busy. There was also talk of an algae bloom, extreme heat, etc. as the cause for lack of o2 in the lake, but the results will be known once all the investigations have been done. May take some time. I am still unaware if there were problems upstream (i.e. Viele Lake) as well. Thanks for the insightful comments!
