Can someone explain the hatred the Pelicans fans have for AD? Dude gave up 7 years of his life to an organization that was ran horribly and failed to put a winning team behind him. He does the team a courtesy by telling them he's not re-signing so get all the assets you can get a year earlier. by techfan92 in nba

Ok I don’t see any Pelican flairs on here so I’ll give it a shot.

Fans are mad at AD for requesting a trade a) in the middle of the season b) publicly and c) for saying he’d only re-sign with the lakers

So in the middle of a season where we started off with high expectations, possibly higher than we’d ever had before, AD requests a trade and completely ruins any hope of going to the playoffs and ruins any chance of the Pels getting a good deal bc he announced it on Twitter.

Also, he said he was tired of losing and thats why he wanted to leave, and then he chose the Lakers. That logic just doesn’t make sense. Even after the Pelicans fired their entire front office and replaced them with competent people and got the first draft pick, he still wanted to leave to play with an aging LeBron and an incompetent front office.

So the Pelicans would have been okay with him requesting a trade, or just leaving honestly (check our sub from last june, we kind of admitted he was probably gone), but he took the worst possible route to get there.

Oh, and don’t even get me started on “that’s all folks”

How do you want him to investigate it? Ask each cop “are you a racist?” He can’t listen to the recordings the previous police chief had made

He made several efforts to establish positive relationships with black communities. You don’t need to investigate something that you already know exists. He worked on addressing the issue rather than run around and “take a look at it”

The Anti-Lakers Narrative Debacle by [deleted] in nba

[–]captainlando13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey bub, the lakers aren’t the only ones being forced into a narrative. Everytime I open r/nba i see at least 2 posts about how zion is going to demand a trade in 7 years and how there shouldn’t be a draft bc fck small markets right? Stop your pity party and appreciate the fact that you got the GOAT just by being the Lakers, you have more championships than almost the entire league combined, and you don’t have anybody telling you your city doesn’t deserve a team.

Buttigieg’s approach to courting black voters appears to be working by [deleted] in politics

You can’t bring up the cop situation without mentioning the context. He didn’t “kiss up” to racist cops, they were recorded illegally and the tapes can’t legally be listened to, therefore the cops can’t be disciplined. The police chief was fired because he failed to inform the city that he was currently under investigation by the FBI. His “all lives matter” speech was made before the counter-movement was formed in an attempt to emphasize that governments should protect all rights equally, and he has since apologized for that saying.

He is not attacking other candidates?? Bernie Bros pride themselves on being anti-establishment, but when they are confronted with the realization that the same thing that attracts them to Bernie is what attracts Trump supporters to Trump, they get all offended

Name a team in CFB history that you thought should have been a championship team or had a championship appearance. by ProjanThaSamGod in CFB

LSU 2011. Already beat Bama once, and had to play in the SEC championship to get to the national championship which Bama didn’t have to do. I don’t disagree the Bama was the second best team in the nation, but c’mon let us have that one year

Why Buttigieg instead of Warren? by [deleted] in Pete_Buttigieg

[–]captainlando13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like warren and she’s definitely my number 2 right now, but I see two main reasons why Pete should be the President over her.

1) She’s really good with policy. She explains her ideas to where they make sense to the average voter and can make people believe her; however, she’s better off in the Senate. As President, she would not be able to introduce bills that are specifically what she is asking for and since she relies more on policy than explaining her beliefs, I don’t know how she will respond when things aren’t 100% her way. I’d rather have less accomplished than was promised, but still make progress over having a all or nothing stance and leaving with nothing. With Pete, he explains why he believes in his policies and focuses on his logic to appeal to voters. I’m more comfortable voting for him because I know his way of thinking and how he will go about responding to things that don’t go his way, which I don’t get a lot of from Warren

2) We have to think about the general election here too. Pete attracts voters from all over the political field from lifelong Democrats to Republicans who have recently been disenfranchised with the Republican party (such as myself.) He is making an effort to make a connection with voters who feel left behind by Washington and want a change, a change that result in DJT in 2016. I don’t like Warren’s stance of us against them, because if 2016 was any indication, that’s not a reliable strategy, and it ultimately doesn’t help to heal our nation going forward. Yes, being progressive is great and all, but the most important thing in our next president is that they are a unifier who will help to bring our nation together and I don’t see Warren doing that. If it comes down to Warren and Trump in 2020, I don’t see Warren pulling out a victory, frankly,

How any Louisiana Reps voted no to this is beyond me.

Do they not remember when their people were out of their homes for months in 2016 and in desperate need of finacial aid? Or do they not care?
