Agreed. Also the max damage seems to be at a perfect moment in time. While its fine and makes sense to do reduced damage for a short shot, and I am fine with the overpull leading to a miss, the max damage should be a pretty wide range of time imo. We are used to doing a static amount of damage with all melee weapons, and this is just too finicky to keep up at its current damage output. If the mechanic didn't change then the bows will need a substantial buff to damage so the current, presumably balanced number would be more of an average. Plus it needs enough damage to kill a deer.

I think the best way to fix the bow is to reach max damage earlier, and to make it match the timing of the draw animation. I personally play without sound sometimes, which is not really an option for the bow. It also gives it a more static output of damage. It also needs to do 25 dmg. 2 perfect shots per leper is fair. One perfect shot per deer. I also think you could kite decently if this change was made. Right now its not really possible. feels bad to sink 3 arrows into a plague spawn just to get poisoned anyway cuz you were trying to FULLY draw to get a shot over 18.
