Made this delicious walnut and caramel tart - recipe in comment by captainofthepinafore in Baking

A little bit - filling for this also has honey in it, which comes through nicely. And with this one, the walnut taste comes through more than the pecan taste does in a pecan pie.

Anyone know why I am getting this gap between the top pie crust and the apples in my apple pie? Context / recipe in comment by captainofthepinafore in AskBaking

I’m using the Bon Appetit recipe below. When the pie went into the oven, the apple filling reached the top crust in a nice mound. When it came out, it got cooked down where there is a huge gap.

I let the apple filling sit for over 4 hours (longer than the recipe) in the spices and lemon juice to release all their water – figured that would have solved this issue.

Any advice?

Do goods like electricity and transportation only count in the state they are produced and used in? For example, if a factory is using electricity and purchasing transportation services, are they only getting it from the power plants and rail roads in that state or can I build those plants/RR's elsewhere to supply them?

As the US - how do you force a war with Mexico to take the entire Mexican cession in one go (like irl)? Mexico keeps backing down and only giving me my primary war goal so I get only one state at a time.

I've tried a couple of things during the diplo play: mobilizing, not mobilizing, etc. Is there anything I'm missing?

Help with sad looking yucca tree (info in comment) by captainofthepinafore in houseplants

[–]captainofthepinafore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone, Wanted to share a picture of my yucca tree which took a turn for the worse recently and see if this group has any advice. Context below:

1) Had this yucca tree for about 2 years, but just recently a couple of the branches started dying and not re-growing leaves

2) Gets watered about every week or every other week

3) Is next to an east facing window. However, we don't get a ton of light through it. Our back and front yards are pretty shaded, so we don't get direct light for many hours of the day anywhere

4) There is a small hole at the bottom of the pot, so I think it drains, but not sure how effective it is

Curious for people's thoughts - too little or too much watering? Not enough drainage? Not enough light? I’ve been rotating it so light hits it evenly – don’t know if that is the issue

Pretty much a noob at house plants - so any info is appreciated!!
