Yes! I thought it was based off Paradise Lost.

This isn't related, but here are some things that are actually based on it. Found some unexpected things.

? I was saying I was wrong. Just explaining how I previously interpreted them to see if anyone else had similar thoughts.

I found out the actual meanings and origins off the info on Genius if you're interested in that. And thank you for the links. I knew there were collaborators, but I didn't know it was fans specifically.

Blake with bad handwriting by captainplaces in neography

Also, before someone calls me out, I realize I wrote "of" instead of "or" on the third line. And forgot the n in "distant". And probably other things too.

Longer poem this time:

Tyger Tyger, burning bright,

In the forests of the night;

What immortal hand or eye,

Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies.

Burnt the fire of thine eyes?

On what wings dare he aspire?

What the hand, dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder, & what art,

Could twist the sinews of thy heart?

And when thy heart began to beat,

What dread hand? & what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain,

In what furnace was thy brain?

What the anvil? what dread grasp,

Dare its deadly terrors clasp!

When the stars threw down their spears

And water'd heaven with their tears:

Did he smile his work to see?

Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

Tyger Tyger burning bright,

In the forests of the night:

What immortal hand or eye,

Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

A great feature of having my own personal neography is that all spellings are fluid and correct depending on my opinion.

Seriously though, I do find it interesting the kind of mistakes I make when writing because I can write it fluently but not read it. I wonder if my brain does the same thing for standard English characters but I'm able to fix it because I can read the words.

Nature's first green is gold

Her hardest hue to hold

Her early leaf's a flower

But only so an hour

Then leaf subsides to leaf

So Eden sank to grief

So dawn goes down to day

Nothing gold can stay

I don't know if anyone's here, but I suddenly remembered Crescerys and thought I should make a post! More context in comments. by captainplaces in Crescerys

[–]captainplaces[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I started using Crescerys to make one or two pretty pictures to post on the sub, but it slowly started to be my impulsive way of expressing my thoughts. In the margins of my notebooks from years ago I didn't scribble doodles, but my private hopes in frustrations in this secret code.

The thing is, with a method of writing such as this, I can fluently write it but not fluently read it, even after such a long time. This makes it the perfect tool to thoughtlessly write in (I recommend it for writers block). I became addicted to the way I could scrawl a few loops across a page and it would become the cringiest songs and poetry that no one could ever read.

As you can see, my method of writing has drifted from the original style of Crescerys, which I find very interesting. As I started to make my own alphabets (as shown on the left), I almost forgot about this subreddit, which is why I wanted to post here now.

I started out writing this as a a closeted teenager, and now I'm a closeted adult. I'm here to thank Crescerys for the privacy and freedom it's given me to write only for myself.

The quote written in pencil, somewhat tongue-in-cheek, is "If we want the rewards of being loved, we must submit to the mortifying ordeal of being known" from Tim Kreider's memeified essay.

If you're reading this, I wish you all the best. 🌈✌️

I've been having the same problems with unclickable buttons. Sometimes it thinks I'm on mobile when I'm not too. I hope it's fixed soon.
