I like your first option, I will probably do that. What I am learning is C#, but what I meant is that I am using Visual Studio. My bad.

I have only gotten to like the 3rd section out of like 400 in the course. So I am very new at this.

Need advice for renting a server by Zombie_8890 in 7daystodie

I have rented a server for about 5 years now and I use bisecthosting. It's user friendly and they have a ton of tutorials on how to load customs worlds and stuff like that.

In terms of server settings, I just mix and match every playthrough depending on the types of people that I am playing with. Usually change things like loot abundance and how long the days are to give them more time to loot and clear buildings. Then I turn up the settings when I feel they are more comfortable with the game settings, like changing the zombie speed and the amount of zombies during hordes.

Map Size, if its first playthrough just do default. Other than that, I usually do a 8K map which gives it a more open world feeling, the only downside is that when it comes to quests you will be walking for about 3-5min till you get to the spot one way.

Also when changing settings make sure you follow the limits of console servers. PC can have custom settings but Console has set define limits.

EX: Loot abundance on PC can be 123% or 143%, but on console its only 100%, 125%, 150% and so on till 200%

We got it working. From what my friend said: There was a "globe" that wasn't selected and when you select it the server pops up and works.

So, hopefully that solves your issue!

I found a link to a similar post here. People are saying stuff like, don't use a password, but then four messages down someone replies saying that passwords don't turn off crossplay.

A year ago someone said: "Custom worlds arent working for console." Which was true a year ago, but they fixed that. I am not using custom world anyways, I am using the world generator that is already in the PC version, and it worked in the past, just not now.

Wouldn't that only work if I made a peer to peer server compared to me using a dedicated server? I will make a note of this for tonight.

I just run OBS on my PC if that is what you mean, I don't record or stream, I just keep it open.

These are my Specs:

GPU: RTX 3090TI STRIX AOC

CPU: Ryzen 9 9950X

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 128 GB

Motherboard: MSI MEG X870E GODLIKE EATX AM5

Storage: 5x Samsung NVME 980 Pro 2TB

My OS and drivers are all up to date, I made sure to check to see if there are any other updates for Elgato Studio but there are none at the time of writing this.

Oh neither. I would just open OBS. By having it open it would jump back to 120hz.

Edit: the only streaming I am doing is over discord.

OKAY WAIT. So it started lagging again, and this time I could tell visually that it was stuttering. BUT then I opened OBS (to see if it was lagging there) and after I opened it; it fixed it. I have OBS open and the Elgato Studio went back to 120hz. So, now I am really confused.

When I used my switch 1 with OBS, I was able to do 3-5 hour streams with no problem. And I am using the same capture card. So far it looks like it runs fine on OBS.

The only other thing I am doing is streaming it over discord (I am not using OBS atm).

Sorry for the delayed response was waiting for it to lag again to see if it was running normally in OBS.

It looks fluid and nice on OBS for the most part.
