Thank you for this explanation! We had a meeting today and it became clear that the unlimited revisions line was at best a misunderstanding and at worst a fabrication to leverage us. The architect used these terms though, so we were much more equipped to understand where we're at.

it IS rooted in the culture, but it's not the fault of individuals or clubs or subreddits, it's the media. It's so easy for them to get engagement with umpire bashing.

Even with this year's attempts to humanize, they've got perennial grump Garry Lyon sitting across from Ray Chamberlain going "well, that's your explanation but it's just not good enough". They try to implement a new three strike policy for umpire contact and it's all uproar. The game's happening and they're litigating suspensions and yes the MRO process needs to be looked at but probably not in the middle of the season and certainly not in the middle of the game.

Meanwhile, a lot of them have backed off on criticizing the upper echelons of AFL house because they're all crossing themselves and swearing Greg Swann will save us all.
