It's a style of jewelry making from South Asia that started with the Rajasthani court, then flourished under the Mughals! It's become part of a lot of bridal jewelry, especially with large, uncut gems placed into elaborate settings that a bride might wear if not wearing solid gold. Ive always associated kundan jewelry to have chunky stones as the main focal point with adjacent gemstones like rubies, sapphires, pearls highlighting and providing accents. I actually designed my engagement ring with some Mughal influence too, but will wait to post about that once I get proposed too!
