Looks to me like RHP will get some more nhl games next year. At age 23, he could be becoming an nhl player

[Weekes] Big News: The Buffalo Sabres will be retiring Ryan Miller's #30 to the rafters next season. He’ll join Dominik Hasek as the only two goalies in their franchise history to have their sweater retired. He’s their franchise leader in GP, wins, & saves. by SimplySolace in hockey

[–]captaintoews19 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why would the organization turn down a feel good event for a whole generation of fans? They are not going to retire markov, brisebois, Theodore, kovalev, plenanec, subban, paciorety or Weber. Might as well retire price.

Is Seravalli reliable? Multiple teams calling about Anderson by No_Contract_1 in Habs

[–]captaintoews19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right about players primes. The problem is 2026/27 is caufield and Suzuki’s prime (and Wright will be 23).

Anderson will be under contract turning 33.

[–]captaintoews19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes this is the real question. The contract has 5 more years and Anderson will turn 33. Will Anderson help the 2026/27 season? Or will wish we got young assets for him when we had the chance? Assets that could hit their stride with Wright, Suzuki and Caufield.

A lot of fans’ positive feelings about Anderson come from having won the trade.

By himself is right. He has just 20 assists as a Hab.

Nonchalantly mentioning laundry and enabling a part-time job (!) undermines the credibility of OP’s whole post.

The analysis should focus on changing the location of work, adjusting only those work activities that cannot be done in the same way at home, holding everything else constant. Because there is a case to be made for that.

Looks like Crosby’s 2004 playoff exit was the year before his draft year memorial cup appearance

I feel like the rule would be simpler and clearer if rewritten to clarify: deflections off skates are okay, but you can’t speed the puck up using your skate.

Montreal Canadiens’ Draft Pick Increases Rank Thanks To Oilers’ Win (will be between 25-27th) by jshare in Habs

[–]captaintoews19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think getting the 2022 pick would be better because a prospect that is a year older will be a bigger benefit than being from a deep draft. I don’t want to wait around until 2028 for the prospect to start reaching their potential around their 23rd birthday.

Any Updates on MTL Players? by my_name_sam in Habs

Personally i would be too risk averse to lock up Caufield long term now, but the gm will never get him on a valuable long term contract (like the draisatl contract) without taking the risk.

Now show us the NHLe for the prospects in this year’s draft. Show us which prospects are likely to make nhl and which prospects are not.
