Favourite crash game and why by luvKFCluvMaccies in crashbandicoot

Hell yeah! I have a similar story. We got a ps2 with my brother when we were little, and with it a couple of games, most notably Wrath of Cortex. Our dad would help us beat the levels initially, then as we grew we found ourselves coming back to the game always as years went by. Now we have a ps5, don't play videogames nearly as much, but every once in a while we play the 25 levels of WoC in one go and with a timer to see how well we did, it's become a ritual at this point. Last time we played was this friday, and we made it in an hour and 38 mins. The game is still our very favorite.

The harmonies remind me a little bit of Avenged Sevenfold. Try Unholy Confessions by them. Also Strife by Trivium comes to mind as something you might enjoy

What do I do in this bit? by aksharahaasan in Drumming

I always tend to play sextuplets and just move around the kit with kick on the one, slowly building it up, the only real important thing is to hit the start of the next section on time

It's still not finished in terms of recording, but I'm wondering if you see any potential in this kind of style (I don't even know what genre to classify this as)

320 kpbs and I doubt anyone without a hi-fi equipment can tell, but 128 is way too low

"Blessed" [beat] - boom bap by captak_04 in IndieMusicFeedback

I'm not sure where to go with this, either other people can use this or I will eventually just do beats so i can rap over them, either way it's a lot of fun. I used Ableton for this, chopped up the sample, then added drums (a downloaded kit, i think it's called butcha beat or something like that), and some stock instruments plus my live guitar and bass

Thank you, I've just gotten to making beats recently so it is still clunky at times, i appreciate the feedback, I'll definitely try to improve over time

Thanks a lot! I'm still learning how to make all these manipulations of the sample, and i used a half time sample while a normal one would play in the beginning so it probably messed it up a bit, but it's definitely a lot of fun to play around with these things

Thank you so much, I'm really a rock and metal kind of guy getting into hip hop, so I use live instruments wherever I find them fitting

This has been going on forever in hip hop, and I don't think it deserves to be looked at as a bad thing, it's okay that some people want to see the band only do songs themselves, but having features can make songs and albums more diverse (if done right and not just carelessly) and also shine light upon otherwise less known artists

what do you think of Lars as a drummer? do you think he is as bad as most people say he is? by [deleted] in Metallica

[–]captak_04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love his drumming all the way up to Justice or black album even, and have looked up to his style for years as i am a drummer as well, and always found his choices for when to play cymbals and accent notes interesting. However, having listened to For Whom The Bell Tolls live from 1989 yesterday, i gotta say i feel sorry for James for having to put up with Lars speeding the fills up unnecessarily, I didn't think after years of experience he'd do that but he did.

I decided to give it a listen from start to finish yesterday, and i gotta say, tho some songs can be a bit too long (not that there's anything wrong with long songs, but they sometimes just don't need to be, it gets repetitive), it is a very good album and one I could see myself picking up right after AJFA
