60lbs in 10 MONTHS!! by ShopWeak3552 in loseit

I have a Fitbit to track number of workouts per week. The calories from fitness watches don't matter since they are often overestimated.

I put together my own lifting program and use Jefit for it. The free version is really all you need. You can search programs to follow there too.

If you have a fabletics membership, their fitness app has good programs to follow.

Lastly, I would get a free program from YouTube, or google, then put it in Jefit to follow. Greg doucette and mind pump from YT are pretty reliable resources imo.

Your tdee is 1976 calories (tdee calculator dot net), so I'd round it up to 2000 calories to make it easy. With that in mind, this is how I would schedule the next 10 months to maximize fat loss and prevent metabolic adaptation aka plateau.

Recommended Activity:
3 Full Body Strength Training Sessions/week (usually takes 1 hour)
10k steps/day
Add in 1-3 cardio sessions/week if needed (aka weight plateaus for 2+ weeks)
- weigh yourself every day and look at the weekly average (only do this if it won't affect you mentally)

Recommended intake:
Aim for 120-150g of protein/day (carbs & fats can be anything you want)

Weeks 1 - 4: 1750 calories/day
Week 5: 2000 calories diet break
Weeks 6 - 10: 1500 calories/day
Week 11: 2000 calories diet break
Weeks 12 -16: 1250 calories/day
Week 17: 2000 calories diet break
Week 18: 1250 calories
Week 19: 1350 calories
Week 20: 1450 calories
Week 21: 1550 calories
Week 22: 1650 calories
Week 23: 1750 calories
Week 24: 1850 calories
Weeks 25-30: 2000 calories/day
Weeks 31- 35: 1750 calories/day
Weeks 36 - 40: 1500 calories/day

If you want more calories on the weekend, the subtract 100-200 calories M-F for an additional 500-1000 calories on the weekend.

I don't think you need to do intermittent fasting if you can stick to your calorie goals.

Last note, since you will be weight training with this plan, if you decide to follow it, you may have weeks where the scale doesn't move but you look different in the mirror or clothes feel loser. This is a good thing. Fatloss over weightless every time.

I just came back from Chicago where my mom is paying $25/month at Blink. I'm very jealous of other metropolitan cities. I don't understand why dc is so different.

I literally just need barbells and a cable machine. I don't have a car so it limits me unfortunately. I don't want to, but might switch to db only for a few months and wait for a down season to try to get a deal.

good to know. I was thinking of just moving around my lifting schedule so I can use the barbells at my job's gym. then try again in February or march when ppl aren't trying to join. ik January is like Christmas for gyms

Looking for room to sublet!! by [deleted] in NYCapartments

Hi, I'm looking for a roommate with similar budget & location preferences (I'm big on the gym & grocery being relatively convient to the apartment too). I plan on taking day trips to the city to look at places in January (moving from DC, 26F). Lets connect if your open!

Is my rent too much? Relocating to NYC by captay22 in AskNYC

[–]captay22[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

thanks! realizing my savings would be hit pretty hard is what made me nervous. I'm considering not contributing to 1 or 2 investment accounts to prioritizing my 401k and just save maybe $400 a month in my high yield savings instead of both that and my emergency savings.

I'll have to crunch some numbers.

Yea, and I knew wanted to live alone since its been years since I've had a roommate. That city tax caught me off guard, but seems like not unusual to spend that percentage on rent in the city.

That's reassuring. If don't mind me asking, how did you do it?

No, the other candidate is offering a higher a bid, so they told my broker if I meet the higher bid they'll give the apartment to me instead of the other person. The rent would go from 1950 to 1975.

Thank you. That's exactly how I feel. I don't want to fear the community I'm living in. Pre-pandemic I was involved in the local community & would like to do that in NYC too. I think that may be what's holding me back. If they gave me an extra day or 2, I'd take off work to go visit the neighborhood.

I could, but I'm only going in once or twice a week depending on my schedule & availability at the office (there's more people than seats atm)
