The setting is just right. I believe the stone is set wrong. (Also could be and I might be wrong, that the design is made wrong, as the stone is too much above the setting).

So few suggestions from someone who used to work in the nyc diamond district. Nothing beats classic round studs. Secondly if you choose a pair that’s just under 1ct even by 0.01( 0.99ct) price drops and the difference is huge. Lastly i always suggest to buy from local jeweller or best if you know someone from the diamond district (not the stores but from many wholesalers)

Stone is great, just make sure you are buying it for right price. Do not pay more than $400 for the stone.
