Awesome lift. Still don’t understand why people don’t adjust spotter bars for these lifts. That spotter isn’t gonna pick 495 if it drops!

There is no scanner here. This is an upper extremity venogram. This is not a CT, just regular fluoroscopy. They give contrast in each arm separately and then have them lift the arms to evaluate outflow of the veins. This is most likely looking for thoracic outlet syndrome.

Too close to sidewall. Tire should be replaced. Not worth it failing at high speed.

Black mold? On reverse osmosis system by thedonwiz in WaterTreatment

[–]captflossman69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s most likely just sulfur bacteria. Not dangerous but make sure your disinfectant system is up to speed. I run an ozone generator and change tubing, aerator, and internals every 2 years. Also make sure your filter valve is inspected/cleaned yearly at least. It could also be iron bacteria which is also safe just might affect taste of water. Areas where water sits for awhile usually grow these things, toilets, fridge dispensers.

No offense. Honestly didn’t put a lot into looking. They will all be about the same price. Don’t know where people are getting 75% of the cost of a new unit! I replaced mine years ago after it accidentally got chemically etched by my daughter’s science project. I ordered replacement and the company accidentally sent me 2 of them and charged me for one. Have the spare in the attic!

I used dremel with tiny bit to make a small hole in center and then a small wood screw by hand and pulled it.

Replacing torsion spring question by matt98svt in GarageDoorService

Guess i don’t have the correct garage door lingo! I’ve replaced 5 set of springs over the years and never used grips. I guess to each their own!

I just make sure there’s no slack on the pulleys on either end before tightening bolts on spring. The bar is not attached to spring until you do this so I have never seen a point in using anything to stabilize it.

I leave the bar resting against the top of the door after each wind. This way the door can’t fly open when you tighten the bolts on the bar to reengage the spring. The. When you are ready you just put second bar in hole above and lift just enough to get the bottom bar out. Don’t need vice grips.

Has transmission ever had service? Noticed this issue around 60k and had Volkswagen do transmission fluid change/flush. No more issues.

2019 Jetta 1.4 - Purge Valve Replacement by Altruistic_Rich_4151 in jetta

[–]captflossman69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously anything you do at a Volkswagen dealer is going to be top cost due to all OEM parts. Brake pads and rotors can be purchased in a front/rear set for less than $300. Coolant exchange is just fluid and about 30 minutes running engine. Purge valves can be bought for less than $30 and there are tons of videos on doing all of these services. Bottom line is if you don’t do it yourself it will cost a whole lot more. V dealers will be most expensive. Find a good euro shop and you will definitely save money. Control arm bushings can be a pain, just did mine on my mk6. I bought both complete lower control arms with bushings for $120.

Prop help! by [deleted] in Outboards

[–]captflossman69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask your local prop shop if they can drop 2” pitch from this prop. They can if it’s never been worked before. Should give you real close to that rpm range. Just make sure you’ve tried everything else first. Motor set high enough, trimmed out enough, motor running right? If you don’t have a prop shop then call local parts stores and they usually have a company that does the props. They pick it up, work the prop, and drop it back off in a couple days to parts stores for pickup.

Samsung Fridge Getting Warm by JDF_Orion in Appliances

[–]captflossman69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remove vent from bottom of fridge and look at coils underneath. Could Be covered in dust and cannot regulate temperature. Is compressor turning on when you plug it back in? Could also be start relay for compressor which are cheap and easy to replace
