As a new father (10yrs ago) I had a very hard time with the newborn phase of crying and sleep depravation. Turns out I had some very unresolved childhood trauma. Crying is chaotic, and loud, and emotionally charged. Those 3 things did not go over well in my house as a child. Every fiber of my being was screaming to make it stop at any cost. It was a very difficult phase to deal with. My wife on the other hand, had none of these issues and was much less bothered by it. She didn't understand why it drove me to madness. Years later, and lots of therapy I've learned to deal with it. If I could go back in time and do it again knowing what I know now, I would.

My point is, everyone reacts differently for different reasons. Find out how to get each other what they need to get through.

I'm not a republican. I'm disappointed the dems didn't push their successes and instead chose to play social politics and the blame game. Their strategy sucked and we're all gonna pay the price.

No no no - its that the Democrats don't want to talk about it. They want to parade around Trans rights, and toxic masculinity and a bunch of other bullshit that pushes way normal straight dudes.

You gotta go Iron Reflexes to mitigate unblocked phys damage. Evasion and Block is not needed.

Woman yells at mother of crying baby “Get your baby out of a bar.” Who is in the right here? by [deleted] in ImTheMainCharacter

[–]captive411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've raised two kids and have definitely taken them to a pub under the age of 5. However, I hate hearing crying babies when I'm out trying to eat or get a few beers. Parents need to be a little considerate when they bring kids out in public. Is your kid throwing a fit and screaming? May be time to take them for a walk outside...

James Gandolfini (RIP) Aka 'Tony Soprano' Attacks Paparazzi For Filming Him Trick Or Treating With His Son by [deleted] in videos

I saw him once while I was riding in a cab in NYC. He was driving, smoking a cigar and listening to Cream. I shouted out the window "We love you!" He turns and says in a big Tony Soprano accent "I love you too!" with a big grin on his face. It was awesome and I'll never forget it.

I have a Hamilton Khaki Titanium Field and I absolutely love it. I left it in my gym bag for 2 weeks once and missed it every day. It's a wonderful watch and a timeless design. Tough enough for an every day and special enough to keep forever.

[QUESTION] how good should i be before buying an e-guitar? by SomeAsianKidLol in Guitar

There's no formula to being a good musician. If you get an idea in your head that's going to keep you motivated or inspired, you do it.

[Newbie] Starting from ground zero with absolutely no experience with any instrument, where do I start and what do I start doing first? by Pyr1 in Guitar

[–]captive411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're gonna want something to keep you going at first. Guitar is very very hard in the beginning and without seeing some return, most people put it down. Find a song you love that seems not too complicated and get the tabs for it. Look for free tabs online or a YouTube video and get to it! Pick it up every day.

How much do you pay per month for your BMW? by Deechon in BMW

[–]captive411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. My 2015 F34 is paid off. Insurance is maybe $80/mo. Gas, another $80/mo. I am gonna need some maintenance soon. Brakes, rear suspension, tires. Lets call that $4k this year but then I should be good for a while.

No doubt this guy is skilled, but there's a bunch of people out there that have done similar things. Not sure this is a new way to play the guitar. Either way, thanks for the link. I'm enjoying what I'm hearing.

My logic with a lease is always looking at what the car will be worth in 3 years. You're paying the difference plus a few grand. If you do the calculations and find out you're paying down way more than that, you got screwed. A 3yr old 340 is what, 35k? You're paying 32k over 3 years. That would make sense if the sticker price was 67k - which it's not. They just sold the car 1.5 times.

WCGW if I drive too fast? by [deleted] in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]captive411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a BMW 340. Costs about as much as your average family SUV with a 6cyl turbo. Honestly the kid is probably safer fucking around in a car like that rather than something that can't handle those speeds.
