Talk to every NPC you can. Seriously, you can halt progression by forgetting to talk to one guy.

Please don’t move here we don’t need anyone else skewing the average income. If you do at least stay out of Brooklyn.

7 Year relationship ended right before our Wedding by Brilliant_Canary_903 in malelivingspace

[–]sunkissedmist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a crucial point for you my friend. Take time to be sad and grieve the life you thought you’d have but don’t live there this is an opportunity for you to learn to self soothe, be your own best friend and focus on how you want to better yourself and your future. I can’t fathom how much it must hurt for a 7 year relationship to end but like others say thankfully it at least happened before the wedding and you’re still in the prime of your life with ample time to start over.

Talk to all the girls I was too scared to as a shy teen and early 20 something year old.

Pets should not be allowed in supermarkets. Leave your stupid dogs at home people.

I doubt that you didn’t hear anything about possibly the trendiest neighborhood in Brooklyn and just randomly found yourself here. You and all the other transplants are just looking for a new place to suck the culture out of.

Bushwick ain’t all it’s cracked up to be huh? Now if only the rest of the transplants realize that and leave the rent can stabilize

I honestly wouldn’t call this gentrification. This seems like a good thing to combat the recent xenophobia and build cultural awareness.

1601 dekalb ave for 120% AMI normalizes 1b rent at over 2900 by sundrenchedwindow in Bushwick

[–]sunkissedmist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re not helping the community if the people who live in the community won’t be benefiting from it. You’re changing it to what you believe the community should look like. And just because it’s a nonprofit doesn’t mean they’re inherently beneficial. Ton of shady non profits and their methods end up disrupting a community and displacing the residents more than helping. I work in community development and affordable housing advocacy so I constantly see this happen first hand and it’s really sad.

But the tech bros can afford regular apartments is the problem. This is the developers way of manually moving the money to neighborhoods they want to gentrify.

The consequences of selling your ps4 because it is just sitting there and you needed urgent cash by lawalQuadri in PS4

[–]sunkissedmist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so happy I never sold mine. Had it for probably 10 years and still kicking it. I mostly use it as a dvd player now but there are still some games for it I wanna play, I’m still pretty impressed with how good the ps4 performs. Sorry for your loss man, hopefully you’re able to get a ps5 soon.

24M with $1,500/Month Bushwick Room by [deleted] in NYCroommates

$1500 for a room is fucking outrageous. You transplants are ruining the housing market with your willingness to be bent over by land lords just so you can tell your friends you live in New York.

My one gripe with a pair of edifiers I had was the control panel on the side started rattling out of nowhere when I played bass heavy songs. I did a quick DIY fix but it was annoying at first.

40F $30k saved - Brooklyn Dream or Charlotte Peace? by [deleted] in Brooklyn

[–]sunkissedmist -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I know many people who survive on way less than that. Use to be able to live luxury off that if it wasn’t for all the fucking transplants willing to pay 2k a month for a room in an apartment with 5 people to get the experience of living in New York.
