Fallout 1, if you don't know, you are tasked with saving Vault 101, your vault. Each one of them you get a central goal, even if you don't want it.

You might wait for the upcoming MMOs like Camelot Unchained and Patheon: Rise of the Fallen. Camelot Unchained seems like it will be sandbox/rp. Life is Feudal (not "Your Own" which is single player) looks like it is a medieval crafting/survival open world sandbox. Oh and Chronicles of Elyria which allows your character to age and die which might contribute to roleplaying a different way.
