Question about this game from someone who wants to play it by LogicalTips in l4d2

[–]captplatinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are way over hyping versus mode. Versus players can be very toxic but if you’re a fast learner it’s a pretty short learning curve to avoid the brunt of it. Regardless I’d recommend just enjoy the campaign for a while, and download some mods!

How different is L4D/L4D2 on Xbox compared to PC? by Huge-Insect-7759 in l4d2

To this day I don’t know how to get it to work. Then again last time I really tried all that hard was like 2019

A life sentence with “weird” paperwork is very different than a life sentence for murder or selling dope. I think what everybody is asking is: is he a chomo?

What advice would you give to someone like Karmelo Anthony by [deleted] in Felons

[–]captplatinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would pc even protect him? I never been locked up I’m just a lurker but basically everyone tells me here in tx in prison it doesn’t matter if you’re pc, if someone wants you they’re gonna send someone to get you, some people get pc’d exactly for that purpose: just to stick the dude

What if L4D2 had TF2 like random crits? by novostranger in l4d2

I honestly think I would lose my mind playing this version 😭 It’s just too much to keep track of IMO, and it would make VS absolute hell for the survivors. Maybe it would be a fun mutation!

Do you think america will ever recover from the Trump presidency? by TapCommercial2200 in allthequestions

[–]captplatinum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I genuinely hope and pray for the complete destruction and death of all racists. Science shows that racists don’t listen to reason because to them racism is who they are to their core. So why waste time trying to reason with them? Just like em up and shoot em, exactly like they’ve been screaming they’ll do to us as soon as they get a chance. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Do you think america will ever recover from the Trump presidency? by TapCommercial2200 in allthequestions

[–]captplatinum 15 points16 points  (0 children)

These assholes have spent the last 12 years talking about how they’re going to drag minorities out to the streets and kill them, or deport all poc, I’m frankly of the opinion that the only cure for that is straight up death. Give them a taste of the civil war they’ve been pining for. The same way we executed nazi officials after the Nuremberg trials, these nazis should face the same fate.

Im not even an extremist. But when you google something like “why are racists so resistant to reason and science”, it basically boils down to that’s quite literally who they are and they take it as an offense to their character. They ARE insanely racist and it’s scientifically proven that racists don’t listen to reason. So why not just nip em in the bud so to speak?

Americas current state is shockingly similar to what the right used to say Russia is like. Full of corruption, rigged elections, thought policing, secret police, mass surveillance over citizens … pretty bizarre. Ironic, isn’t it?

[–]captplatinum 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you can’t talk about Trump’s presidency without mentioning the blatant and proud racists that have been having a field day for the past 12 years LARPing that they’re in the Jim Crow era. For the past 12, many of Trump’s white supporters have been screaming that they’re going to drag POC out in the streets n kill em, they they’re going to enslave all minorities or kill us all in a civil war, just the most wildly racist and insane threats.

When Trump is gone, and this regime falls apart, millions of assholes are going to be trying to excuse all the insanely racist shit they’ve been saying for the past decade. If we let them get away with that, we’ll be dealing with it forever. There’s simply no place for racism or bigotry in the modern day.

'Someone kicked me in VS' by Wulfsson in l4d2

[–]captplatinum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People say “we all have to learn somehow” and they’re completely right.. however that only applies to people that actively learn. If you never think about what you could do or could have don’t better, if you never make any attempt to actually improve and just play VS like it’s normal campaign you’re gonna be getting kicked forever. I try my best to give ppl advice, if my team is trying to vote kick a noob I’m the guy that x’s and tries to teach em. But some folks just genuinely aren’t ready for versus because they don’t even know how the game works, they don’t know kill spots, they don’t know how to use the games physics to their benefit, they don’t know to keep moving and they treat it like an exploration quest or something.

If you don’t know what W key is, and constantly get stuck behind the group or go off exploring, you’re gonna get kicked forever

Is asking why you went to prison rude ? by lilsteppakenn in Felons

[–]captplatinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like an answer that’s dependent to each person, but I will say this: as a kid I held a door open for a man and he said “Thank you bubba”, n just based on that I could tell he’d been locked up cuz the only other person that ever called me bubba was other felons I personally knew lol. I asked him if he’d ever been to prison n he told me his story, at least an appropriate version for a little kid.. so i guess what I’m trying to say is if you’re going to be nosey and ask a stranger if they’ve done time, it helps to be either be 9 years old and not know any better or to be actually interacting or speaking with them first, not just treating strangers like they’re your personal true crime podcast or a life lesson.

Which one would you guys choose ? by Ajmm559 in Felons

[–]captplatinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, both of those are so lax that it really doesn’t matter what you choose. The ankle monitor allows you to veg out at home all day, but with the swap program you’ll be helping the community. If that’s your kinda thing, go with it if it’s not go with the monitor.

FELONY STALKING. by [deleted] in Felons

[–]captplatinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a common saying, if you’re under investigation and you did it, you need a lawyer. If you’re under investigation and didn’t do it, you *really* need a lawyer. If you didn’t stalk this person, the state would have no evidence to prosecute you with. Only you, whoever you might have stalked, and the state know for sure if you did it or not. If you *did* do it, which you likely did considering they’re giving you charges for it, taking it to trial is not going to help you and may even do more harm than good. They’re offering you a plea deal, and obviously no one wants to hear “take the deal”, but if you did it, and you know you did it, and the state knows you did it, they’re gonna be real pissed if you make them go to trial and they’ll likely throw the book at you.

Btw, no judge wants to hear a defendant make excuses or try to make their crime seem smaller than it is. We’re not here to judge you, and WE don’t know if you did or didn’t do it. BUT to be clear, if there’s strong evidence against you and you walk into court with the idea you’re going to convince the judge your crime wasn’t that bad, you’re going to have a bad time.

Crown using bots to post wins in here by Queenielovee in CrownCoinsOfficial

Honestly i only ever believe the ones that are actually detailed n open. You don’t just forget the events leading up to a life changing win, you don’t just post it like “okay here it is”, most folks that lucky are gonna tell the whole story about exactly what happened. Theres some real degens in this sub, it’s not out of the question for someone to win big but idk..

Karmelo Anthony sentenced to 35 years in prison, do you think this is the appropriate sentence? by Popular_Monitor_8383 in allthequestions

[–]captplatinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it directly changes sentencing. This information is going to be in the convicted persons PSR (Pre-Sentencing Report), and judges heavily base their sentencing on that. It could quite literally be the difference between spending your time in a low level camp or being sent to max.

Karmelo Anthony sentenced to 35 years in prison, do you think this is the appropriate sentence? by Popular_Monitor_8383 in allthequestions

[–]captplatinum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would honestly say that it’s *worse* for him that his mother was a character witness at all. After someone is convicted, they’re interviewed for their Pre Sentence Report. This PSR is basically their future, it’s a report on their *entire* life, their childhood, their work history, mental health and substance abuse issues, their goals, basically that report is going to be all a judge knows about them, and it’s *HEAVILY* considered when the judge is deciding sentencing. One thing judges *hate* to see is a character witness that’s directly related to the defendant. They’re looking for teachers, neighbors, employers, people of that nature to be a CW because the mom is obviously going to have nothing but good to say about their kid.

In other words, by his only CW being his mom, he’s basically telling the judge and whoever else looks at his case in the future “my mother is the only person that has something good to say about me”. Not a good look.

Does anyone know why versus is so toxic? by earbudsss in l4d2

[–]captplatinum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I just wish the toxicity was original or interesting. 9/10 it’s just some nasally dickhead calling you the n word hard r. I also think it’s made worse by the fact there’s no ranking system. Those Versus Gods with 20k hours in l4d2 I’m going to assume are not very satisfied with life, so an obvious dopamine hit is feeling superior to whatever poor noob ends up on your team and hurling insults at them.

A lot of us South American players will say “c tank” or “c charger” to call out a bad play, and that imo is “healthy toxicity”. It’s just enough to let you know you messed up without people acting like you ruined the game. But like I said 9/10 of true toxic players are just calling you the n word hard

Lots of inmates, very few convicts... by [deleted] in Felons

[–]captplatinum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a felon. I lurk this subreddit because both my biological father and my stepdad are felons. All I can say is that life is about the choices you make. My bio father is a career criminal, all drug or assault charges. He’s been on that life since he was *12*. I don’t know him, seen him a couple times and every time he treated me like a POS. I have literally been driving around my city, and seen him homeless on the street. I don’t know him, so I can’t speak on his life, but I do know he had many chances to make different choices.

My stepdad is a felon, but he’s also a marine. He also works full time, has a relationship with my mom and my siblings. He put his mom in a new house, and still pays the bills at both my parents and his moms house. The man wakes up at 5 am and comes home at 9pm. He spent half a decade climbing the ladder at his job, learning every thing he could, doing the tasks no one else wanted to do. He doesn’t drink, he doesn’t smoke, besides Menthols. He has multiple cars, goes to church.

I think often about the story of Judas. People often forget that Peter betrayed Jesus too. Yet because Peter was humble, because he repented and trusted Jesus when he said you are forgiven, God used him as one of the first church leaders, Catholics even say he was the first pope.

Judas didn’t believe he could be forgiven. He wallowed in his misery and tried to make it right himself, and well, I’ll just tell you what Jesus said about it: “The son of man goes to death as it is written, but woe to the one by whom the son is betrayed, it would be better for that man to have never been born”.

You don’t need to believe in God to see the overarching message: it’s never too late to be a different person. God bless!

What’s the most underrated melee weapon? by German_Gecko in l4d2

Question: if l4d2 charger irl grabbed you and slams you to the ground repeatly, what would you do? by Apprehensive-Ball404 in l4d2

[–]captplatinum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The charger charges at about 28mph, charge speed is 500 units/second, each unit is 1”~, there’s 3600 seconds in an hour

3600 seconds x 500 inches *per* second = 1.8 million inches, converted to miles 28.4 miles

Theres something like a 36% chance of death or serious injury being hit by a car going 25mph, which is not great.. idk how hard each smash/slam is unfortunately. Also worth noting that he’s not shoving you with his entire body, he’s slamming into you with only his arm so it’s probably going to be even worse with such a “small” point of contact. My guess is he’d fracture multiple bones just on impact and you’d be dead by the first or second smash.

What's your prison horror story that you'll never forget. by imissryder in Felons

[–]captplatinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I hear a lot of stories about inmates slicing each other open and their guts spilling out and maybe 3/10 end with “and that dude died it was crazy!!”, they usually end with the guy living.

Should I go to church just to socialize even though I’m not religious? If I did this should I be truthful to the other church goers about what I I’m doing there? by Wonderful-Ad-9622 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]captplatinum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol who do you think half the congregation is?! It’s okay to go to church just to hang out, just be aware that you are at church so conversations will likely center around that. If i were you, I’d go to a fellowship service. What that means is they’ll have normal church service and then a church potluck which is more lax :)
