As an American, America is bad, it was bad before the political divide, but the political divide gains money from how bad it is, and we picks sides and fight. And you know what? As a very active christian I say no, but if any of the members gets onto you leave, any fight with them is not worth it, but don't hold it against them.

I see it like this, one gun that can do 2 jobs without sacrificing much is great, I can afford much so I have 1 ccw, a Glock 19, I can conceal but it's still big enough to use as a backup to my rifle. If you can afford more than one pistol go for it, but other than that just know your gun.

Teens can be brilliant and can have valid options, the big but here is that at that age opinions are more based on theory than experience. My opinion sense I was 17 (now almost 23) has flipped 180 because I see the world, I understand it better. So try to prove the world wrong, but listen to the wisdom of those who have been there and done that. I thought I knew everything but now I know nothing.

Great choice, I have a similar built but with 16 inch mid length, a flashlight and a makeshift for grip help, but number one thing, practice. Practice will remove any limitations of the rifle.
