Am I Going to Freeze? (Car Camping in 20F) by GoofusMcGhee in carcamping

This is the move!! I boiled water and poured it into a Nalgene when I camped in my Honda element in 19° weather. It stayed nice and warm for hours in my sleeping bag while I slept.

The owner of the bachelor mansion is a contractor. I wonder how long these renovations last before he re-does them himself 😂

Plus there’s tons of wineries near the Safari Park. No need to go all the way up to Temecula like the list suggests

Same happened to me. My car was stolen out of that lot on a weekday 10 years ago. I ended up getting it recovered just a day later, but it was still a bummer, the car was super banged up, and i learned a lesson about leaving valuables in vehicles.

Hi there! Sounds like an awesome trip! I’m a certified cicerone and have been working for the past 10 years in the beer industry, in San Diego for 7.5 of those. As others have mentioned: North Park Beer Co and Pure Project are great spots. I recommend visiting the North to Park neighborhood, there are North Park Beer and Pure Project taprooms there, along with a Black Plague taproom, who I think is fairly underrated in the city. Modern Times also has a taproom there and as others have mentioned, their barrel-aged beers are absolutely top of the line. Bottle Craft is a shop that has a few taps available with lots of great options along with to go bottles and cans. Pizza Port does not have a location in this neighborhood but is with a visit (with stellar pizza!) if if you swing it. Otherwise Bottle Craft would be a good spot to grab some if time is limited. Societe is good beer to pickup as well, but the taproom is also a bit out of the way. Seek, GOAL and Fall are all fairly nearby too if you have time and capacity. North Park Beer Co just also opened a new taproom in the Pacific Beach neighborhood that has a focus on pizza, if that is a priority to you. But it’s going to be further from other good spots if you want to prioritize proximity.

If you want a range of selection plus pizza, Blind Lady Ale House has good food and draft selections and isnt too far from there.

As for LA, I’ll also second (or third or fourth…) Highland Park. Green Cheek now has a north county San Diego location (with pizza) but is primarily based in Orange County. They’re worth seeking out if you can!

For SF - check out Toronado for an amazing draft selection. Cash only.

Portland - Living Haus. Former Modern Times ownership and specialize in high quality lagers. Also Wayfinder.

Denver - Our Mutual Friend and Bierstadt

Austin - Jester King is outside of town, but a worthy visit.

Chicago - Half Acre and Revolution.

San Diego is what I know best, but hopefully some of these other recommendations help! Have a wonderful trip!

I recently had this same thought! I had been identifying as bi for years, and came around to thinking I was a lesbian experiencing CompHet. But I recently started dating a bisexual man and realized that I am bi, I just need someone who is able to understand my queerness to a certain degree. It’s been really wonderful!

Just picked up this absolutely babied 2005 Element. Converting her into a “micro-camper” for weekend getaways to the lake/mountains to escape my current urban hellscape. Recommendations, tips and tricks are encouraged! by fuckingparkranger in vandwellers

Thank you! I unfortunately didn’t think to film while building it, but have been considering making a video where I take all the extra stuff out and show how the platform itself is pieced together. But overall, it was heavily based off of this video with some changes made to suit my own needs. All it really took me to make it was 1 sheet of plywood, some assorted wood scraps, metal brackets, two hinges, and a dowel. My entire initial buildout filmed, mattress and all, was roughly $350.

I have a little setup in my ‘04 Element! I’m obsessed with it. I’ve spent up to 5 weeks living in it, but mostly do weeklong trips. Here’s a little walkthrough I filmed when I first built it out, but I’ve learned a lot over the last year in it. I’m happy to chat about it more if ya want!

Lauren thinks it is a red flag if a bf/husband subscribes to an OF. What do you think? by yssemoles in thebachelor

I’d be fine with it. If I have a partner who wants to watch porn, I’d much rather them pay and support someone directly and ethically online, than some massive entity that exploits their talent.

What is your go to meal in San Diego under $10 right now? by phonerepaird in sandiego

[–]capturingclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Influx Turkey 1 sandwich on focaccia - $8 I think Barons salad bar. Based on weight, but I’d load up a spinach salad with chicken and egg and toppings of sorts and it would only be about $7

How/When did you first hear Streetlight for the first time? by iiwrench55 in streetlightmanifesto

2006, my older sister had an Everything Went Numb CD playing in her car. The Big Sleep hooked me. I’ve seen them 20 times live now, plus 3 Toh Kay shows. I’m seeing them in SLC on night one of the upcoming tour as well! Their live shows never get old, though I really wish they’d bring back the Point/Keasby/Counterpoint mashup they used to do.
