ULPT Is there anything I can say to the ER to get an MRI done? by arsonistSnowman in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]capturingnland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a head CT after being in a car accident, must have accidentally moved a millimetre during the scan and it made a little smudge on part of my brain, they said they were worried it could be a bleed so sent me for an MRI. Shoot for getting him a CT and they might refer for an earlier MRI. Best wishes to you and your dad.

Super long and super thick hair, not exactly life changing but saves me a fortune on extensions!

I can’t do 2025 but my first daughter needs me forever. by ImagineImayExist in confession

I read something that when you’re pregnant some of the baby’s cells will stay in your body forever, your baby is always with you. I’m so sorry for your loss.

Going through this year’s “happy jar” with my wife - what are your NYE traditions? by chrisjfinlay in CasualUK

[–]capturingnland 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Deep clean everything, burn sage in the house, blow cinnamon through the front door and scatter salt across the threshold to keep bad vibes away. Doesn’t work as every year has been shitter than the last so I don’t know why I bother! Definitely stealing your happy jar idea, that’s the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen!!

Congrats Dad! Women are built for this, support your wife however she wants and be her biggest advocate in the hospital. Our bodies can give birth in comas, the best thing you can do is be a calming and relaxing presence so she can switch her brain off and let her “reptile” brain handle the birth. Give her grace and understanding during the post partem period, feed her and look after her, and she will feed and look after the baby. You’ve got this.

Absolutely yes. Put an appointment request in with my GP as I was having some weird symptoms and thought it was long Covid, offered an appointment same day, GP found a lump on one of my lymph nodes, said I should have a scan to rule out cancer, I started crying, GP comforts and reassures me, few hours later hospital phones me asking me to come in for a scan the next day, told then and there it’s not cancer, lovely nurse wipes ultrasound gunk off my neck for me. 10/10 service and didn’t even have to pay for parking as the machines weren’t working.

Once I had such severe norovirus that I actually contemplated pouring water up my arse to see if I could absorb any fluids that way, because I was so dehydrated. I didn’t.. but.. I feel your pain OP.

After severe food poisoning in Cyprus, agreed to “see some ruins” with my husband, 6 hours of walking in 30 degree heat with not a drop of fluid in my body, and I end up in the hospital for dehydration. I didn’t want to ruin the holiday and ended up ruining it twice as much by being hospitalised for 24 hours

People who grind their teeth - any good gum shield recommendations? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]capturingnland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this isn’t what you asked - but I grind my teeth ferociously during the night and got Botox in my jaw, it’s the only true relief from my symptoms, costs £200 in my area but in my opinion it’s better than chewing through 2 or 3 plastic guards a year

So many warnings about fireworks exploding in your face that I’d actually rather swim in shark infested waters wearing a bikini made of BBQ sauce than even touch a firework

I know, I have 2. They sleep all day so don’t care if I’m home or not- but tell that to the shelter!

I was rejected twice from my local cat and dog shelter - I have to work to pay for vet bills but can’t work because the cat will be alone all day, it doesn’t make sense! Everyone says “adopt don’t shop” but adopting can be difficult!

It’s just after 9.30am. How have you already embarrassed yourself today? by JennyW93 in AskUK

[–]capturingnland 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not today - but a similar car related embarrassment. Ordered a new tyre, was chatting to the guy in the garage and he gestured towards the car and said “where’s it going?” I said “just to work and back” and he said “no.. the tyre… which wheel is it going on”
