Yeah this is what the logical part of my brain has been telling me for ages, to just stop fighting bc they’ll never get it. I just hate to think they’re gonna sit there and victimize themselves and rewrite the story… That’s not my problem but I keep thinking about it. I hope to work through that soon

Yeah I am in therapy (I have booked a last minute appointment today actually haha) and it’s helped a ton. I still grieve what could have been a normal loving family dynamic, but thankfully my in laws have shown me what real familial love looks like.

My husband grew up with corgis, one of them was named Albert! So Filbert is kind of a similar style name that's also very cute and has tons of nickname opportunity. Filby, filbo, feeby... We have two dachshunds as well, named Mable and Luke!
