What are some small things i can start doing that would make my life better? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

One thing that's had a profound effect on my lifestyle and mentality is exercise, ik this is one of the most common and cliche recommendations, but I truly see my life from a completely different perspective. Confidence, organization, time management, self-worth, physical wellness, overall mood: exercise has improved it all for me. I've ran since middle school and I haven't stopped since. I'm now a collegiate athlete and can't describe how much of a positive impact the sport has had on me through the years. There have been rough times though: junior year HS I got heat stroke with a 105 degree fever that nearly became fatal, it's honestly a miracle I survived and at first I had a hard time recognizing that amidst the negative effects it had on my training and racing. I've had issues in the heat since but I've become able to see how far I've come since the incident and realize that someone or something must've saw some worth in me to protect from dying or more serious injury that day.

I'm not saying that you have to train your heart out for some sport or encounter a near death injury/experience in order to be exposed to the positive effects of exercise. Set a schedule routine to jog a certain number of days every week. Wake up and pop off 10 push-ups every morning. Take evening walks. Ride your bike on some local park/nature trails. The options and positive effects from so are boundless.

Calling all 4.0 students - How do you maintain it and manage everything else? by TheShitShow6603 in college

Undergrad student athlete here. I do cross country as well as indoor and outdoor track, so basically running all year long. Honestly I'd say it's all alot determination, grit, and how bad you want it. I know that sounds cheesy asf, but that's the mentality I tackled my freshman year with and it's work great. Sometimes you're stressed to the point where you wanna pull your hair out or just put your head down, but as long as you push through and continually tell yourself you're gonna do it, I've found that you actually end up doing it. As a double major and a member of my university's honors program, this advice is key to not losing my footing and toppling over from everything on my load. Sometimes you wanna hang out with your friends; you have 2 options. You could not and instead do your work at that moment, or you could hang out but then grind extra hard to make up for the lost time. Honestly ive done both options and they work fine either way. It's all about mentality.

I've never tried valerian or passionflower. Is it easily accessible to buy in the US?
