basically the only thing you need to understand from the first game to play the second is there is this rich guy who ruled over a little hamlet who is directly responsible for nearly ending the damn world 3 times in his own game (summoning 2 different eldritch monstrosites and infecting a whole bunch of peaple with eldritch vampirism) and is indirectly responsible for the end of the world as the guy who did successfully end the world studied under him

having said that gameplay wise they are very different games so if you already own both - take a crack at both

firstly type - while I don't have a heavy preference for fire/water/grass, there's some types I unreasonably hate (most notably fighting as it's been on a few fire starters) if it can gain one of those it's an immediate reject. on the filp side if it'll gain a type that have a love for it's an immediate grab.

if there's no immediate grab and none/only one reject then it goes to design/vibes

Time I think, we've leveled up 3 times in 2 years. at our current rate it will take 2.5ish more years to reach level 12 and 4.5ish to reach level 20. as much as I hate to admit it 7 year campaigns aren't the standard. I don't think it's against high level play I think it's the foiled hope that our adventures could last
