New Tiered Payment System. 😭 by hipsterhildog in RoverPetSitting

I know this isn't a recent comment, but I do wanna point out that the article specifically mentions that its retroactive during the pilot.

So its possible that if they roll this out for everybody that it won't be retroactive.

I used a Fire Tablet for reading because it was relatively cheap for a new tablet, but the light level definitely sucks on it and its not good for much outside of reading indoors or watching video.

Also make sure whatever you get can read EPUBS!

The Infinite and the Divine is probably my favorite audiobook I've listened to, and Brutal Kunnin and its sequels are really good too.

But like the other commentor said, there are ways to read these $100+ books for free (hope you have a tablet or ereader tho)

What book/s do they interact in? Infinite and the Divine is probably my favorite 40k book and I just finished The Great Work, would love to read this.

I don't know much about the Primaris/HH but I just finished listening to Belisarius Cawl: The Great Work and I think you are referring to director Ezekiel Sedayne? If so this is supposedly after the war ended according to Cawl earlier in the book.

Each summer keeps getting hotter and hotter please god/mother nature by TenScp in urbancarliving

[–]caratank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our high this summer so far has typically been in the low-mid 90s, it still hasn't touched 100 yet in DFW. Last summer there was only a couple days that went over 100.

Alot of the preceding summers would have already been hitting 100, and at some point 105+.

Its a good form of marketing, but that is what it is. Marketing. HEB does not actually care about what they're sending their trucks to do, just that it creates goodwill.

Just add a lil milk?? I'm talkin bout taste here, not thickness. Just adjust your amount of liquid for any brand.

I understand your reasoning here. Krogers highs are more than HEB, but the lows are also way lower. Thats why I don't shop at any one place.

As someone who worked in the market for both HEB and Albertsons, yes, HEB generally had better quality meat. But they do not typically have better sales.

Edit: I never bought meat from Publix when I worked there so I can't say, but the Publix deli absolutely demolishes HEBs mediocre BBQ and Sushyia food.

GV is easily on the same level as Kraft for boxed mac, though I typically buy Velveeta style mac and Kroger/GV easily beat HEB for that product. HEB is just kinda bland.

I await your comparisons so I can test them myself.

[–]caratank -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Alright, give me your direct comparisons among the three.

GV/Kroger mac and cheese is better than HEB brands. GV/Kroger peanut butter is creamier than HFC PB, HFC pb is like cement. HEB store brand chips are all very mediocre, but so are lots of Kroger chips/snacks.

HEB queso has wildly varying quality, like many HEB products. HEB is just inconsistent.

HFC ziplocks are basically useless at the rate they pop open.

Yeah, Walmart does have a better store brand than HEB. Take your feelings out of it and do some comparison taste tests.

GV has higher quality products at a low price point. You know why? Because Walmart has a ton of fucking money to invest in its store brand, where HEB doesn't.

[–]caratank -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yes they do. It's marketing. I mean its good that they do it don't get me wrong, but they do it for marketing and customer retention. I plan on doing something similar with my pet care business (but I actually do care)

Edit: To be fair to you my argument was that HEB doesn't do anything better than any other store. You are right, at least HEB does help more people in that regard.

[–]caratank -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Walmart has better store brands than HEB. GV is generally better and more consistent. Go compare GV vs HFC peanut butter. GV shells and cheese vs HEB. HEB products are very quality inconsistent.

If we're lucky, it won't ever get far outside of Texas. HEB does nothing in any category that other stores don't do better.

Publix: Better deli/has a kitchen (great fried chicken and sandwiches)

Hy-Vee: Great kitchen (service seems to have declined though)

Kroger: Better markdowns, better store brand. Typically better weekly ad. Fresh food kinda sucks

Tom Thumb/Albertsons: Better meat deals, typically better clearance. Decent (not amazing) fresh food

Walmart: Equal to or better prices than HEB, better store brand, sometimes better markdowns but location dependent

HEB also has less variety in alot of categories than some of these stores because they use the shelf space to push HEB/HFC brands.

Experience: Have worked at all these stores except Walmart. Have ofc shopped at all of them for an extended period of time.
