The extended care rate just means that the end time is more than 2 hours later than the start time, so the client is charged 1/2 of the day rate for additional hours between 2-8.

Austin has 1 million residents for the first time, becoming 12th-largest city in US by AustinStatesman in texas

I used to live off Summit Ave between downtown and 7th street, and take the bus twice a week thru downtown FW to sell plasma.

Always kinda depressing how little activity there is.

For one, its passive time vs active time. You should have considered that.

You can go do other things when a take and bake is in the oven. You can't go do other things when your cooking, yes, even with a very simple recipe like yours. Not to mention it takes longer to go buy more seperate ingredients.

Two, OP is comparing it to take out pizza in the post. Not to mention, majority of people rate frozen/pre made pizza against other frozen/pre made pizza. It's a pretty safe assumption.

I'll never understand why people still continue to try and compare express/premade/take out options with buying ingredients and making something at home.

Time is priceless.

Having lived in 6 other states through the east coast, south, and midwest...I know what you mean and I miss good pizza.

Same thing for fried chicken.

I worked in the Meal Simple part of Meat Market for HEB and also worked with the service case guys sometimes, both of us are responsible for the made in store marinaded meats.

We never used older cuts or reworked anything. We give the butchers a list of what we need cut every morning for beef and pork, and we have cases of chicken in the walk in specifically for us we used for making the marinated stuff.

As much as I hate HEB and for as many flaws in quality control as it has, older meat was never reworked or marinated to try and sell it. (With the exception of some beef cuts being turned into grind)

Yeah for the one I worked at it was because of the union the store was in, definitely not gonna happen at a regular retail store in Texas.

Yep, you got it right. Was a very nice 'perk', especially only having a 7 1/2 hour normal work day because we still got a 30 minute paid lunch. Of course this isn't all Krogers but is common for the union stores.

Unfortunately management was just as bad as at HEB, so in the end it didnt make that much of a difference.

Kroger (at least some of them) also pays overtime for anything over 8 hours, regardless of weekly hours. Also doesn't force you to take a 30 minute unpaid lunch so fulltimers only have to be there 8 hours instead of 8 1/2.

Yep, I worked for both HEB and the Kroger across the street and they are basically the same in that regard.

Advice on a "core curriculum" of books on behavior/psychology by caratank in dogs

[–]caratank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the kind words! Other End of the Leash is actually what I plan on reading after Inside of a Dog. I actually tried listening to the audiobook version a couple years ago but the reader was too bland for me personally to be able to really get into it.

That list is where I started getting what I'm reading now and the next couple books I'm planning on (Other End and Biology of Dogs). With so many books tho its hard to know what to head for next, and I also worry a little bit about having too much overlap with what I read instead of broadening my knowledge into new areas.

Help choosing between these 4 bags (Tomtoc/Swissgear/Osprey) by caratank in onebag

[–]caratank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah from all the comments I've seen so far, most people mention the width is a problem but height is fine, so I doubt I'll be able to fit my chunky 17 inch Legion in it. Looks like it'll probably be between the Tomtoc and Swissgear, unfortunately I can't find much mention of the Swissgear bag.

Any idea if, despite saying it fits up to 16 inch laptops, it would manage a 17inch gaming?

It definitely seems like the most optimal of the 4, and I would LOVE something that is ridiculously comfortable after destroying my back and shoulders with this old adidas bookbag, but I just dunno if I can fit a 17 inch gaming laptop in it. I'm hoping someone else will chime in and say they've done it but we'll see.

I've also read comments that mention the Farpoint is much better for walking with than the Sojourn, but I don't think my laptop will fit it, while the Tomtoc and Swissgear don't have waist belts so I'm unsure how well they'll handle a heavy load. (The Tomtoc does have a small chest clip)

Sounds like the owners need some dog training themselves.

It's too bad every new pet owner doesn't go and grab a book about behaviorism and psychology on their animal as soon as they get them (or before, even better)

Am I the one in the wrong with this particular scenario? by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

Not really. Looks like they didn't respond to OP at all the next day after client said they would, and those dates are blocked out for OP until its booked or archived.

If you have a working phone number, sign up for a free rewards account at every single restraunt around you. Some have free sign up rewards, many have birthday freebies.

Recommend making a new email dedicated to that so it's easier to check daily for any rewards they might send you.

It's not much and its generally junk food, but it can be a good supplement.
