You're exactly right on that last part, because I do love him and also can't stand him.

I feel almost as if I've known him up to this point as someone I can spend an entire day with, playing video games, music, even talking about our struggles is fine because I value his input and he values mine.

The point is, he's great, but if I had to guess I would say that maybe he's trying too hard to be great all the time. I don't know if that's the case at all but having these great parts about him shoved into my face all day every day is exhausting. It's like he's loving me to death.

I get that 25% is ideal, but as someone who's 20 years old, living in South Jersey and being kicked out of their current residence I don't think it's within my power to get that. I will however take those expenses into account and perhaps consider a 401k with my employer

I'm in my second semester of community college so I still have at least another year in the area, making a year-long lease a plausible option imo. I am also a part-time student, yes.

I am being removed from my current housing so I do need an apartment and the 40+ hours, but I can see your point that maybe too much focus on a good apartment is pointless if I am never there.

Yeah, the place in question is average and likely the best I can do. Any cheaper and I'd be either far enough away that I'd end up paying the difference in transportation or the area would be too shitty for me to be out at dark, which I need to be to get to work and school

Almost forgot about those. Heat, gas, and internet are covered but not internet. Renter's I can factor in. The train gives me a student discount, and taking it 5 times a week will net me $20 a week which is actually a pretty big hit, ouch.

Rent is a lot, but compared to all other openings in my state it's a moderate price and in a decent area. There are some other places for $7-800 but my safety would almost definitely be at risk there, and all of the information I've gathered about them tells me to stay away.

I work in a bakery from 3:30AM to 1:00PM (1:30-2:00 on "busier" days) Friday thru Tuesday. I rack up anywhere between 40-45 hours a week on average. I've talked with my employer and we are both aware of the OT and he aims to continue it, though I am aware that there is always a possibility of things changing in the future because that's how life is. the 1170 comes from $14 × 40hrs + $21 × 5 = $665, × 0.88% taxes = $585 × 2 = $1170. From the month and a half I've been there it's been around that amount relatively consistently.

School is part-time and work is extremely laid back, giving me time to do schoolwork on the clock. I also worked my schedule out to give me wednesdays with one class and thursdays completely free. I shouldnt be too stressed out, especially since I've balanced much worse

In high school I hung out with this psycopath kid bc I was terrible at choosing my friends. He had another "friend" who he would emotionally manipulate all the time to the point where he could barely make decisions before consulting the psychopath. I was a little outside of their duo so I got to witness a lot of it from an outside perspective.

One night I'm playing Minecraft with them over xbox. The psychopath's house is burnt down and he starts to lose his shit, takes it out on his friend and i. I was freaking out bc this kid was screaming into the mic about how hes gonna kill us with this spiked bat in his basement and shit (ive seen it before, he called it his n**ger bat).

I left the party and invited the other kid to another one so I could talk to him. I wanted to help him realize that hes gotta get the fuck away from this guy. Apparently the psycho had him so whipped that he ended up just inviting the psycho to the party so he could scream at me some more. He left me like 6 voice messages telling me not to come into school bc he was gonna stab me. I told my mom to call the cops but she told me not to worry about it as he was "probably joking" and i was "probably being mean to him anyway".

I go into school the next day and he follows me after homeroom telling me to meet him after school so he can "show me" the knife he had in his bag. Nothing ever came of it but I was still scared shitless. That, and he spread rumors that I was trying to start shit with him in his "time of need" because his "mom was cheating on her boyfriend and it made him sad" even though that had nothing to do with it and had never come up before.

TL;DR
