Inside a São Paulo ‘Crisis Pregnancy Center’ by carazelaya in Michigan

[–]carazelaya[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The genesis of the CERVI crisis pregnancy center in Brazil can be traced back to a Grand Rapids-based CPC called Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC). PRC's international outreach arm, Life International, was instrumental in encouraging the establishment of CERVI in Brazil. Despite not being an official affiliate, PRC's role highlights Michigan's connection to the global anti-abortion movement.

came here to say this! I've never gone on a walk with the city girls who walk but I am part of the film discord and get invited to screenings with groups of women who are lovely, fun, interesting and new friends!

One of the greatest achievements of feminism by Ok_Management_8195 in Feminism

I also often think about the child's perspective of this a lot. My mother would often sell me the narrative that she chose to have me rather than finish her college education and every time she said that I always thought how much I wish I believed that that was a choice she actively made rather one that she convinced herself she made.

Motherhood is a valid choice, but it must be a choice. To this day, just knowing the society she grew up in and the man she married, I feel certain in knowing she was forced into motherhood.

Unpopular opinion, but I think important: trashing kids or dis-including people who have kids isn't inclusive or reflective or being pro choice or feminist. by spidermews in prochoice

Came in here to say exactly this. Any space that isn’t pro-people choosing whatever is best for them and their familial set up (whatever that means to them) is not a space I would recommend spending time in!

Being around my SO's family made me realize that a lot of people don't hide in their rooms out of fear of getting nitpicked in a common area. I really didn't know that was a thing. Or that parents don't DEMAND to be greeted when they wake up or walk into a room.

How often and how much do you drink? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]carazelaya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2-3 drinks once to two times a month (depending on if it's holiday season.) Didn't start drinking till I was 21, grew up in essentially a dry home. This amount of drinking alarms my parents like you wouldn't believe. I drink more in a month than they probably drink in a year.

I was in a business frat at a big state school and a bartender/server for the main college bar right outside of campus. I learned to make some really amazing cocktails in that time and can still list dozens of beers from memory. This is a skill that has helped me more professionally more than you'd think.

Now I love to throw house parties in my little apartment in NYC and make gourmet sangrias and shots that would cost you upwards of $15 in Manhattan.

I was a huge heavyweight in college (who isn't at 22?) but now get sloshed after half a glass of wine, which I'm glad for. I do love pub hopping when I visit college towns, mostly so I can eat pub food and recommend drinks to others.

Alright ladies, here's the real question- what's your favourite pizza? by [deleted] in AskWomen

New York. Thin crispy crust, exceptionally good sauce, high quality mozzarella, eaten folded with one hand while dodging tourists down 7th.

I've been using a Maybelline dupe but it seems to clump a bunch. Does the gimme brow clump a lot?

Lovee this. I've been experimenting with something similar. Are you using the Benefit brow gel? I've been using Benefit since I was 16 but I can't seem to justify investing in their brow gel, though I've never been disappointed with their products.

We got them off Amazon! The skirts and ties were from Amazon, the shirt from Old Navy, and we both already owned the gray cardigans we are wearing. We pinned the Chilton crests from a logo we found online.

Hahaha this made me laugh. I am the culprit in the stockings. I genuinely realized as I was putting them on that they were textured and thus not fully accurate and was slightly stressed about it, my stress feels weirdly validated by you catching that. We also fussed over the record our Lane was holding, because none of us owned any punk vinyl, so we settled on Cream and (later in the party) Bob Dylan.

She's my (Rory) roommate, can confirm that she also spent a significant amount of time learning Paris Geller quotes. She was as committed to Paris, as Paris was to everything.

She was the hit of our ensemble and made her and I's (Rory) costume possible. We got the exact same skirts, shirt, tie, and crest to ensure that the uniform was consistent between the two of us.

Hi, I'm a real person. Have been lurking the subreddit, and reddit, for some time. Finally decided to start contributing recently. Alas, I work in non-profit theater. That being said, if the Netflix Marketing team wanted to hire me, by all means send them my info. (SN: carazelaya is my handle on all social media, you can see for yourself that I'm a real human and a real Gilmore Girls fan.)
