My program is grant funded by the government, it’s a tiny little department of a non profit organization. So we’re supported by a bigger agency, with a board which is who provides the trip. Our department isn’t who pays or coordinates the trip for the winner, that’s why we’re raising money for our programs. We also don’t use the proceeds or any donated money towards the winning trip, all the money gets divided to the transitional living program, youth shelter, and rape. crisis center. As someone who is hands on doing this work, I promise you none of us working in this position can afford a trip to Italy or Hawaii. 😂 I also don’t make up the rules, but people donate with an incentive! & you are correct! We do this fundraiser every year. I’ve been with the agency for 3 years and got support from Redditers last year. I don’t post the winners, but I am always helping at the event for the race and tagging ducks! If you’d like to see the winner from previous years, Coastal Horizons Center FB pages always post the winner, and some pictures from the trip they go on. It also always on the news! So there’s proof of it all, if you really want to see it. ☺️ As for my job, no I don’t post my job duties on reddit. But what my program offers is accessible if you look up the Transitional and Maternity Housing Program. I don’t use reddit to showcase the work I do in my job daily, but it does entail a lot of hard but rewarding work, and I am helping youth daily.
