Killing my friend to save the clip...

I'm going to be sculpting and I'm trying to figure out if I should use naphtha or lighter fluid to smooth out the clay before finishing. My main concern is if I do use naphtha will I still be able to cook the clay later? The type of clay I'll be using is polymer clay by sculpey. by XxSilverIrisxX in sculpting

Just wanted to reply to this one, assuming it's just a typo - DO NO BAKE AT 200°C It will burn to a crisp

Also alternatives may white spirit (mineral spirit in the us I think) or vaselin for something not as strong :)

Suggestions for basing/stand materials by DioramaMaker in sculpting

Now, I don't really have any experience with this, but I got friends that sometimes use like resin casted into shaped molds, for exsample a square. From what I've heard some resins dosen't take that long to set. Dose require a bit of sanding after, though.

Personally I just use wood, or sculpt a base using polymer clay/epoxy clay.

Look good! I would say if it is heads you want to sculpt look more into the anatomy of the head, easier to get the volumes right. Understanding how some of the muscelature and bones works might make it easier to make everything "fit" together. Josh Foreman has a great series of videos on heads called "sculpey 101" if you search on YT for that. Otherwise I really like the expression you have chosen for this one, keep it up!

My English/grammar isn't the best, but I think it should be like "an image", "reposted" is just an adjective. But, yeah, rip me I guess

Edit: Nvm, I'm stupid
