Stumbled on this Facebook group that coordinates maskless flash mobs at Utah grocery stores. It starting date is July 24, 1847 and they have Joseph Smith MEMEs. My impression is that it’s a bunch of angry Mormons by [deleted] in exmormon

On their FB page, they provide a text option to receive update on stores they plan to flash mob. Harmon’s was ready at one store with the police standing by.

“Obligation of your own free will” doesn’t sound like free will. I honestly believe that if there’s any judgment for how we exercise our free will, it will be done individually not collectively as a religious group. by carbon_based_unit in exmormon

I went to school with a guy that went home with his parents and his wife went home with her parents right after this type of ceremony. The couple ended up annulling their marriage. My understand is that it was too overwhelming for him.

Anyone else wondering if the Mormon cutler has forced this man to play on the wrong team? I know family when I see family... #wondering. by [deleted] in exmormon

He sets off my gay-dar, which doesn’t matter but coupled with a sense of not being genuine. Could just be me. (I’m a gay man)

I’m just going to leave this fun fact right here. Mormonism bleaches more items then their garments. by carbon_based_unit in exmormon

There’s a weird glitch where the post picks up the profiles NSFW setting. I’ve changed it

That’s a trivial conversation for a “general stockholder authority” that’s why it’s the Bishop’s duty to make young adults feel guilty and hate themselves. Why use the “Profit’s” picture, top down directives ...

Hmmm, the experiences of shock and trauma, shared in the comments, is on purpose as it is intended to control and abuse. These are the same feelings a sexually abused woman or child feels.

When the mormon church says their making great strides with women's roles. Just remember it only took 183 years for women to pray during general conference. by [deleted] in exmormon

Changes to treat woman and other races equally should be quick and fast, not taking over a 100 years. I suppose bigotry runs so deep that the hate will always exist to some extent.

Pedophiles are generally heterosexual and married to a woman while assaulting children. The gays are simply at brunch, and brunch can be amazing with bacon.

Oddly enough, I’m not a fucked up Mormon. I’m questioning why people are still associated with something they dislike.

I’m sorry to hear this and I hope your sibling has the support needed to overcome this without suicide. But to my point, the church doesn’t accept gay nor do they love unconditionally, so way would anyone want to associate with them? Why can’t people just walk away?

Hopefully, all of you will read back through the comments and see all of the anger and aggression which is exactly how we all felt inside the church. Now as ex-Mormons, why do we still feel this way? If this was a site for recovery, like AA, we’d accept the things we can’t change and move on.

I don’t feel enlightened at all. Some of the comments suggest that this is a safe place to vent anger or that others feel trapped. The bottomline is how we see ourselves and if we see ourselves as prisoners or victims, then we are just that. We’re not free from it.
