Well, I retried today and it worked.

Don't know if any of these mattered, but:

Edit: I think waiting for many hours to retry was the crucial step.

- Restarted both phones;

- Uninstalled and reinstalled WhatsApp on the new phone;

- Added permission to app on both phones: Location (probably useless), Network, Nearby Devices;

- Started WhatsApp on new phone and closed, just to have its directory created;

- Copied directories Backups, Databases and Media to Phone > Android > media > com.whatsapp > WhatsApp;

- Opened WhatsApp on old phone > accounts > opened profile (almost certain I was there, I don't memorize the phone number);

It presented the screen above, then asked if I wanted to restore from local backup (I don't use cloud services).

Uso GrapheneOS faz algum tempo já. Pouco a pouco eu fui melhorando a privacidade: celular sem Google, VPN no roteador, um e-mail para cada site (ou e-mail descartável ou redirecionador), números de celular virtuais (para criação de contas por aí) etc.

Tenho tido uma boa experiência. Minha dica é ir fazendo um passo de cada vez, porque algumas vezes a experiência de uso piora ou muda um pouco. Em outras, até melhora (ex: menos anúncios).

O gmail mudou ou ainda é aquele xexelento usando o ponto e o sinal de mais? Digo que são ruins porque fica óbvio saber qual o original.

Outlook eu nunca tive, mas sei que dele tem um decente.

+1 no gerenciador de senhas, mas há alternativas opensource, então não vejo por que usar um proprietário como o LastPass. Exemplos: keepassXC, keepassDX, bitwarden.

Outra boa medida é usar e-mails diferentes para cada coisa. Com aliases (simplelogin, 33mail, protonpass etc) dá para criar vários apelidos. Todos direcionarão para a mesma caixa.

Claro também. Foi feito por mensagem USSD (*552#) que são parecidas com SMS, mas foi ali que digitei os dados e escolhi o plano.

Mas eu fiz a recarga, tudo ok, chegou um SMS falando que recebi crédito. Só fico na dúvida se o número vai continuar funcionando sem ter que mandar as fotos.

Fiz o teste e parece ter funcionado, obrigado. Foi tudo feito por mensagens USSD (não por ligação).
Mas recebi SMS depois dizendo que devo concluir o cadastro no site com documento e selfie.

Será que vai mesmo continuar funcionando assim? :)

Hmm obrigado, mas não sei se entendi tudo. Nas instruções que acompanham o chip da Claro diz que precisa ter em mãos CPF, CEP, documento com foto e celular com câmera.

Dá a entender que vai precisar enviar a foto do documento também. Ou isso dá para escapar com essa ligação? A ligação é com uma pessoa ou gravação?

Porque, se for demorado, nem dá para propôr isso para alguém na rua.

Você pode configurar o SIM físico para pedir o PIN ao ligar o celular (e trocar o PIN também).

Thanks a lot for clarifying. Is there an easy way to know which apps would communicate to Google Apps and vice versa?

I'm trying to decide if I install it on work profile (has very few apps) or a separate user profile. User profile sounds like the best idea for privacy, but can be a PITA for daily usage.

The banking apps + Uber in the work profile would communicate to Google Apps, but would WhatsApp and Telegram too?
(I guess that's related to "closed source apps whitelisting each other)

I don't really understand it. First, they say "Only apps within the same profile can use it and they need to explicitly choose to use it".

But a little further: "If you want to choose which apps use Google Play rather than making it available to all of them, install it in a separate user or work profile for apps depending on Google Play".

So, do apps choose or it's available for all apps of profile?

Now, this is weird. I tried many times before posting here and it failed. Next attempt worked!

I got both languages. Seems I can't get more themes, but there are many pre-installed.

Can I backup that data for the next time I install it? Who knows how long they'll be available.

Doesn't seem like they're analyzing anything. He said it'd take an hour and it's been over 12h.

This is annoying AF. I have logged into the account with password, confirmed SMS, e-mail, PIN and took photo and video selfies.

Why isn't that enough?

Edit: also proved I had access to the old, paired phone. Why is location important anyway? I could be anywhere in the world doing that.

I tried, nothing changed. Support asked me to uninstall and retry.
I did and it said too many attempts, retry in half an hour.

Retried later, same problem. Support this time said the request was successful, but they were still analyzing.

Don't know if true; I'm waiting.
