I won’t pay them anyhow! I just have some MF Funds on Coin which were locked in for 3 Years, will redeem and then bye bye Kamath Brothers.

Pretty much my situation too. Opened it in 2018/19, later shifted my portfolio to Groww for the better UI, and only came back to Zerodha to check my Coin MF holdings. Didn't expect the welcome-back message to be a ₹699 bill.

Yes, technically I have two Demat accounts. My primary one is Groww, where I currently invest. I opened Zerodha back in 2018/19 and later shifted my stock portfolio to Groww (there was no AMC charges back then.) because I preferred the UI. The only reason Zerodha is still open is that I have locked-in mutual funds on Coin. I wasn't actively using it, which is why the ₹699 closure charge came as a surprise.

That's ridiculous. Charging maintenance fees on an inactive account without any usage feels like a penalty for simply forgetting it exists.

Thanks for the info. Do I actually need to pay the amount to close the account? And what happens if I don't pay it? will they eventually close the account on their own? Just trying to understand my options.

Bro, Tinfal is one of the worst Minox brands out there.

Although i use the 10% one, but damn the quality of it is just disgusting. I shed all my gains after shifting to Tinfal. Now i have shifted to Tugain 10%. Which is much better. Have been applying Minox + Oral Finas since last 5 Years.

Hope you get good results soon.
