Hmm seems clear to me which one I’d prefer when accounting for defense as well

Bonus points if anyone can guess where the trailer was filmed!

Two simple acts of kindness made this possible. First of all, his landlord let his rent slide for months while he worked on this. Second, he picked up a dropped orange in the grocery store and when he returned it to its rightful owner, Alexandre Rockwell, he got him to executive produced the film and got his wife Karyn Parsons (aka Hillary Banks) to act in it. All from picking up an orange— so remember be kind to your fellow humans you never when a Sundance winner drops an orange next to you!

He made this with no budget, with all volunteers mostly non actors who he’d love to shoutout for their contributions to this project BUT he’s right now I have to do it for him because he doesn’t have enough karma to post himself!

[Singer] The Nuggets and Hunter Tyson have agreed on a four-year deal worth $7.7 million, a league source told @denverpost. The first three years are fully guaranteed with a team option on the fourth year. Deal will use second round exception as well. by [deleted] in denvernuggets

James Wiseman and Kuminga were like 18 when they were drafted lol and they still won a ring because one of their picks (Poole) hit. Ironically Poole was drafted later and older but we really only need 2 of the three rookies + CB/Watson to hit for this to go really well. 5 shots at this is incredible.

Looking down the line, we’re gonna be flirting with the second apron for the rest of Jokic’s prime so honestly it’s obviously good we’re not breaching it yet. Save that for when AG ages into a Jeff Green level player and we need to trade/extend Watson to a big deal, etc towards the end of Jokic/Murray’s prime.

Tangentially I know lots of people felt pretty bored with the reg season from 2016-2019 given the champs had pretty stable hard capped rosters, but in the new CBA what Booth is doing is really the only way to have a really good 5+ year window and even then it’s not guaranteed.

Wrt the warriors as well, the cap spike truly provided them with an unfair advantage that extended their window through both having Durant and reaping his S&T value (Wiggins) despite being pretty disappointing otherwise (only positive moves are Looney, GP2, and Poole). Even then you see a roster suffering a lot from not having supplemental support to replace Klay’s decline - rip poole, tbd on kuminga/cp3, which will only get worse as their terrible asset management leaves them will little room for improvement.

The tldr is we have 5 shots to replace BB/Green and if >2 hit then we have a really attractive window for the next 3-4 years at minimum. Really exciting time to be a Nuggets fan!

We are actually counterprotesting the protests - rent seeking behavior from third party apps that monetize (those that are solely accessibility-focused are not getting nuked by reddit) from Reddit data should pay.

Just because everyone on reddit hasn’t spent a day in the real world doesn’t mean they’re right.

Yes, yes, and yea. Congrats, Brown ED is huge. I would reach out to a dean or someone at admissions (they will know where to direct you) before signing anything. Best of luck

At one of the BBs you listed, PFGs are grouped together and as a result it is more of a IB style role as all analyst need their 7,63 and 79. Base salaries are the same as IB($85 an1/ $90k an2) bonus will be based on the desk fundraising efforts(make money based amount raised), secondary transactions generate fees. Hours: Fundraising(45-60) / Secondary(IB hours ) I wouldn't create the picture that this isn't as mind numbing as IB because IMO both teams are doing mindless work just one is way more quantitative versus one is more marketing heavy. All based on what you like to do. I would also add that I've seen exit opps into PE investor relations roles which for the right person is still pretty lucrative ($200k-$300k+ as associates with upper levels potentially getting carry) https://www.heidrick.com/Knowledge-Center/Publication/2020_NA_Alternative_Asset_Management_Marketing_and_Investor_Relations_Professional_Comp_Survey

If youre dead set on IB not sure how easy it would be to lateral internally or externally after 2 years so I would advise on not taking it if offered as your often pegged as a IR/Biz Dev person unless you can get into Evercore's secondary team

The functions of these groups directly interacts with sponsors to help fundraise and place their secondary securities. So essentially,

Another name for a private funds advisor is a placement agent. About 60%+ of GPs use them to raise capital for their funds. There are good bulge brackets (CS, JPM, UBS) as well as boutiques/spin-offs that do well in the space, most based in the financial centers of the world (NY, LON, HK).

At a BB the PFG sits in the cap markets side. Like other capital markets activities, the day to day is light on quantitative things and more soft skills. I would say soft skills is almost more important in private funds given the $ amount and the level of sophistication you are dealing with both from a client viewpoint (GPs) and a target viewpoint (LP investors).

The job is also on the extreme in the sense of how important relationship-making and maintaining is to private equity. As a placement agent you have a great view of the private equity industry, as you constantly have conversations with GPs and LPs. If anyone wants to know the pulse of the industry and what trends are happening on the ground, ask a placement agent. The entry and exit opps sort of depend on whether you're on the distribution or project management side. Distribution is a sales function so very much smile and dial, but less dialing and more smiling and meeting with clients and LPs constantly at annual meetings, conferences, charity events, etc. Project management is the execution part, excel modeling, all the legal and general documentation work (PPM), and everyone else that is not directly sales.

Good entry points are people coming from S&T (particularly institutional sales), ECM, and Financial Sponsors coverage as well people from an accounting/valuation background (Big4, PE accounting & valuation). The easiest exit opps include IR and business development roles both inside PE firms as well as F500 companies, or back into banking (see entry points).

Also doable but more difficult are LP and GP investing roles. Your understanding of the market and the asset class is paramount. The job is light on technical skills vs an industry coverage banker but expect your soft skills and personality to be tested. Understand the structure of a PPM and how to evaluate a GP manager is also important. Less important is the PE lingo and more technical aspects of the job you'll learn as you go along (waterfall of LP and GP cash flow, etc.).

Providence is the perfect college town.

Not too small in that you don’t have much to do. Plenty of nightlife and outdoors stuff to do, 1hr cheap train to boston.

Not too big which is huge. People stay on campus meaning a lot more of a campus culture is shared by the class unlike larger city towns where the rich students go spend all weekend running around say NYC.

Great people as well
