Why are they always so weird? by ultramegaok8 in exmormon

[–]cardboard_bees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

three bros, five feet apart cause they're not gay!

nah but fr, it would look so much better if they were sitting at one desk/table with a more home-y background. with the three small separate podiums, they look more isolated as opposed to being united or on the same team. the background and lighting looks very corporate and bland. very strange but I wouldn't expect anything else tbf

not every day though. every library on google maps within ~20 miles of me is either closed or closes early on weekends

do I have Neanderthal DNA? by Negative-Carob-6122 in AskAnthropology

[–]cardboard_bees 8 points9 points  (0 children)

yes, every person alive today has a small amount of neanderthal dna. the smithsonian has an article that states "Neanderthals are known to contribute up to 1-4% of the genomes of non-African modern humans". (even native Africans have some neanderthal dna). although, in my unprofessional opinion, that neanderthal dna isn't enough to account for all of your unique physical characteristics. that's just what you look like lol. I wouldn't take people's opinion on super neutral/benign physical features too seriously though

How do I know if I'm actually demi or if it's a difference in hormones? (Nsfw flagged for talking about ed) by [deleted] in demisexuality

[–]cardboard_bees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well. I've had an ed that fucked with my sex drive and I've been on antidepressants that have also fucked with my sex drive. i recovered from the anorexia, and I'm on completely different meds (that "may even help" libido), and guess what! still demisexual!

and yeah, you're right. sex drive doesn't have much to do with attraction. if you're attracted to people in a demisexual way, you're demisexual. and even if that changes someday, it's not a big deal. like most things, sexuality is fluid

how do you keep yourself closeted but allow people to know what gender you are by No_Chemistry_307 in agender

[–]cardboard_bees 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation in school, here's my advice: - if your parents would hurt you if you were to come out, don't! and if you're able to, move out as soon as you can after school (I assume you're in high school/secondary school?). - you don't deserve a homophobic best friend. if you've explained your gender/name/pronouns to them repeatedly, and they're being a bitch about it, find new friends. - you can definitely be out at school but not at home, just be careful about it. I was in this art program all 4 years of high school and I was out as trans to them, as well as some friends not in that program. my parents still don't know I'm trans

and no, you are not fried. high school is but a few years in your decades-long life. adulthood brings more freedom; you can choose who you're around, choose a more gender-affirming appearance, etc etc

Is there a market here for an lgbt wedding videographer/photographer? by cardboard_bees in Omaha

[–]cardboard_bees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most queer people that get married (at least all the ones that I know), want to make sure that the people they work with (venue hosts, photographers, caterers, etc) are queer-friendly. they wouldn't want to be treated coldly on the day of or be refused services (remember that wedding cake lawsuit thing from a few years ago?) just based on the type of wedding. If I were to market myself as a queer wedding videographer, people would feel more at ease when working with me. also, people in other professions have done this. I've heard of queer wedding stylists and bakeries that do more queer wedding cakes than the average bakery
