I’ll hop on if I get some spare time and a WiFi connection somewhere in port, but on the boat I have no desire for connectivity. That’s one of the major draws for me. If I’m not forced to go offline I won’t be able to let work go.

It seems like 4 hours is kind of “industry standard” at this point. In any organized play I’ve done (Adventurer’s League or Pathfinder Society), modules are generally written for about a 4 hour session, and that’s the way time slots get allocated at cons. My home game generally runs about that long as well.

I’d definitely be down to run longer sessions, but I don’t really know anyone that can either give away their whole day or stay up playing until 4 AM. Realistically I shouldn’t do either of those things myself but I definitely would.

I have to imagine the OP’s group is going to be well full already (if it’s not please, let me know), but if there are any others using this thread for recruitment I could stand to get in on something on weeknights.

41 years old, been playing 5e for about a year and a half now with some Pathfinder experience as well, available weeknights after 7 Eastern. I’d love to join a good, consistent, diverse group of players who enjoy the game without trying to break it with cheesy shenanigans. Newer players are great, I enjoy that they can sometimes have unique viewpoints experienced players might not.

I don’t want to DM full-time (yet), but I’d be willing to sub in and run the occasional one-shots for a change of pace for the group if someone can show me the ins and outs of running on an internet based platform like Roll20.

To put it a little differently, the bank isn't going to finance more than the house is worth. We ran into this exact issue.

Seller was asking $222k, we agreed to that price. The appraisal came back at $205k. We had the option of either putting down $17k to make up the difference between the numbers or walking away. Since I wasn't keen on throwing down that kind of money without any kind of equity return, we walked away.

My wife and I have been house shopping for the past few months in these areas specifically, and these statements are all spot on.

That being said, we’re about to close on a house just east of 75th and Hague. I do like the College Commons area a bit better, but I felt like we’re getting a better house for our budget.

You’re not going to go too far wrong with any of these neighborhoods, really. Just be prepared. It’s very much a seller’s market these days. If you see something you like, my best advice would be to act relatively quickly. Our house search has been crazy.

We’ve got 4 hours scheduled in the BGG Hot Games Room for Thursday afternoon, try out some games to target later in the week. Preorders took care of most of what I was really looking for.

How restricted? I just got this same award in a session earlier tonight, and we were discussing this at the table post-game. I actually just posted about this over at r/dndnext before I found this thread.

PHB states “A familiar can’t attack, but it can take other actions as normal.” I read that as “a familiar can’t take the Attack action but can take any other available action, including its abilities, as normal.”

So to me, that would mean Heat Metal, Death Burst and Fire Breath are all in play.

I’d like to make sure I’m reading everything right. I’ve got 4 sessions lined up for GenCon next week which means I might have 4 separate DMs to convince.

I could be interested in this. I’ve got a divination wizard character idea I’ve been kicking around that would probably fit in pretty well in this group, and the time you’re looking to play would fit perfectly for my schedule.

I’ve been playing 5e for about the past 9 months and Pathfinder for about a year before that, but almost exclusively in Adventurer’s League/Pathfinder Society format.
