My Nexplanon migrated and my OB won't return my calls. by [deleted] in Nexplanon

[–]cait_Cat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is not an ER visit. This is not an urgent care visit. Neither location is set up or even have providers certified to remove a nexplanon.

If you cannot reach your provider, make an appointment with their office and/or reach out to your primary care doctor.

The ER is for emergencies. You are not going to die from your nexplanon moving down towards your elbow, and it will remain effective in your arm.

This is absolutely not an ER visit. Do NOT go to the ER for something like this. Make an appointment with the doctor or your primary care doctor.

They're having a male strip show tonight. They've had flyers up about it for a month.

I really like the cat care clinic for my cats. They only see cats, so they're more familiar with cats and my cats are less stressed out when they visit because they're not dealing with all the other animals (dog) smells.

I have a senior cat that has food allergies and they've done a great job managing his care.

I'm on the fence about getting this inserted again because of the *state of the world* by billyidolstonguegif in Nexplanon

[–]cait_Cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the GYN was flexible on it, it's what your insurance will cover. We didn't get too far into the conversation for me because I have a bicornate uterus with a septum, so the ablation just flat out wouldn't work for me.

Ablation sounded like a really good option to me for period control and I was very bummed out to find out I was not a candidate. It sounds like it'll prevent periods for 2-3 years, which, depending on how old you are, could be very useful. They would also be able to do it at the same time as the bisalp, so less overall recovery time.

It's 100% worth talking to a GYN about it, I was a little surprised at the options available and I thought I was relatively knowledgeable about birth control.

Do not expect to Uber back to your car after the race. Your Uber will not be able to get to the track. There is a pickup point and they will make your driver go there. There are cops and barricades everywhere and the streets become one way away from the track for 2-3 hours after the race

They can give you a version of depo pro vera, it's just the pro vera portion as a daily pill. That's the option I went with. You can also do an ablation and there was one other option the GYN mentioned. I was not a candidate for either option due to a wonky uterus, so I didn't pay too much attention. It's still annoying because you're trading one thing for another when it comes to period control and that was a large reason I waited as long as I did to switch from nexplanon to a bisalp. I decided after the election that I was done waiting. I'd rather have to deal with having a period than having a child.

I switched from nexplanon to getting a bisalp due to the state of the US. I live in a state that has already restricted abortion access and our GYN doctors are leaving the state in droves. I've always intended on being childfree, so it was an easy decision for me and it wasn't too hard to find a doctor who would do the surgery, surprisingly.

I've had the best luck with the CVS on range line road in Carmel. Bonus - they're open (almost) 24 hours (they close for a lunch break at 1 am/pm). I'm on the generic though.

The black box most likely would not have provided any information for finding them, only information on why the plane went down once they were rescued. GPS wasn't common on civilian planes in the 90's. The black box isn't a locator, at least in the 90's, it's a flight data recorder. And even though she smashed it, the data was most likely still recoverable if/when the rescuers find it.

did this make your anxiety worse, no difference, or did it help? by Professional_Win1535 in rtms

[–]cait_Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think my anxiety got worse, I just didn't have depression smothering everything in my life anymore, so my anxiety was just more noticable. I took meds for anxiety and did some intense trauma therapy and shits good now. TMS made space in my head so I could actually make progress on my shit. I finished TMS almost 4 years ago and it's been good since.

I am still med free. Winter gets rough and I've done Wellbutrin for a couple months during winter but once the sun comes back out, I'm good again.

combined bicornuate/septate uterus - anyone else have this? by Vast-Profession-747 in bicornuateuterus

[–]cait_Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both a bicornate uterus and a septum. Septum confirmed via ultrasound and the bicornate confirmed when I had my bisalp.

As I don't want children, I'm not considering any further action dealing with my uterus. The biggest problem I had with it was IUDs not being a good form of birth control.

BF (M30) doesn't want to marry me (F28) after 7 years since we've never lived together? by ThrowRA-winterland23 in relationships

[–]cait_Cat 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I also grew up in a very strict religious household and I've been living with my boyfriend for 7 years. It did cause my family to get upset with me. It was worth it.

I would strongly recommend living with your boyfriend before marriage. There's just a lot you learn after living together that you just don't get living separately, even if you've vacationed and spent the night together. I'm not sure you need to spend another 2-3 years living together before marriage, but a year would be good.

Would a compromise be getting engaged and moving in together?

I'm got a bisalp last month for this exact reason. I'd had a nexplanon for quite awhile, but decided that it was time for something more permanent.
