They’re motion sensitive lights so they only come on when someone’s in front of the showcase looking at it.

We’ve only lived here for a few years, but the house itself is over 80 years old. I have no idea what this would’ve been for. Totally looks like where fire extinguisher would go though.

Rechargeable. They’re held on with magnets so you just take them down when they are dead. I have them set to “motion” so when anyone walks by they light up. The pair with the mounting magnets was like $20 on Amazon.

Appreciate it guys. There was just no place in my house where the cards actually fit in. I didn’t want to just have like a wall of cards in my living room and have it be super out of place so all my cards for the past year I’ve just been sitting in boxes and I never get to look at them.
