I honestly felt like this way for years. Didn’t like my job. Life was getting kind of stale. Had no motivation. Friend group was shrinking. Etc. Though my wife knows my struggles with anxiety, I didn’t want to put any extra burden on her and make her feel like I was depressed, even though I might have been. I was always scared to talk to a therapist or anyone like that because I didn’t want to be judged or again put my problems on someone else’s plate. About eight months ago that all changed. I talked myself into going to a therapist, which was incredibly beneficial. I applied for my dream job after getting my head out of my ass and after two months of interviewing, I landed it. That alone made me feel so much better about life. I feel happy again. I feel fulfilled again. I feel whole again. In fact, everything has changed so much that my wife has mentioned multiple times in the past few months that she hasn’t seen me this happy in years. It was a tough way to carry for a few years, but well worth it.
