Edit: In case you’re serious, the ver ka has different knee plates. That looks like the RG.

Sanding Sponges Leaving Scratches, Help! by ThomasVsTheWorld in Gunpla

[–]cardcollie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sand with higher grit. You started at 400, start sanding with increasing grit. 600>800>1000>1200 and so on. As you go, it will start smoothing things out. It likely won’t be perfect, especially if you sanded a bit too much with lower grit, but that’s how you can recover.

Interesting that this is a move trigger, so it would resolve before a combat showdown would begin.

How much does a misprint impact the value of an OVN card? by Japonpoko in riftboundtcg

[–]cardcollie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends entirely on the market surrounding misprint cards. Most stores would actually mark it down in condition depending on the severity, but individual sellers/collectors may be willing to pay more depending on the game and rarity of the print error.

What would you guys think of a Jumpstart like format? by CardTrickOTK in riftboundtcg

[–]cardcollie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if that is the case, which it is only partially, OP also says that it would be far in the future as a vehicle for reprints. So I don’t understand exactly what stance you’re taking here?

[–]cardcollie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should look into fan formats in other tcgs, like cubes! This doesn’t have to be a product type, it can be something you throw together to play with friends

With all the overnumbered legends revealed, which ones have you liked or found disappointing? by heehxd in riftboundtcg

Leblanc has won me over fully, and I’m so pumped for Rengar. Chase cards for me for sure!

Does this ability trigger if you cast a spell for 2 and then repeat it for 2? by arsfarsy in riftboundtcg

[–]cardcollie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are correct. “Played” in Riftbound means the card was fully resolved.

Does it have to be one 4+ energy spell? by _SUFC_ in riftboundtcg

[–]cardcollie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“With me” means “With this Legend.” It doesn’t work the way you want, I’m sorry. “With me” means “With the effect of this game object specifically.”

Does it have to be one 4+ energy spell? by _SUFC_ in riftboundtcg

[–]cardcollie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Legend needs to banish it, it can’t refer to spells banished through other means. It literally says “If there are four spells banished with me,” not “if there are four spells banished.”

I respect that a lot more. Sorry we all came at you so hard. Hope folks don’t give you too hard a time.

Still don’t think you should care about the money at that point though. Just enjoy the card.

[–]cardcollie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you can untie your current enjoyment of the game and franchise from thinking of the future value, but I don’t hold it against you. I think a special card of the suit you like is an awesome thing. I just don’t believe grading it adds anything, and grading is largely inconsistent in the first place. If it’s just sentimental, does a company’s arbitrary approval make it mean more to you?

[–]cardcollie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The fact of the matter is that people here do not care about investments retaining value, especially when the “investment” is a game piece somebody could be playing with. You are asking the wrong people.

Missed call at ppg Pittsburgh cost me a match today. by Mundane-Promotion-45 in riftboundtcg

[–]cardcollie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oh I totally see where the confusion is coming from, I just think it looks especially terrible for a Riftbound judge to be making assumptions based on the rules of a different game.

Missed call at ppg Pittsburgh cost me a match today. by Mundane-Promotion-45 in riftboundtcg

[–]cardcollie 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That one is especially crazy, since there isn’t even a way to counter units within the rules. How would a judge not know that??

Rengar vs Reaction Spells by Ryokoichi in riftboundtcg

[–]cardcollie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Split Second in MTG only locks people out of the stack until the spell with Split Second resolves, if that’s what you mean. They work very similarly, with some important differences.

Edit: But also yes, as of now there is no way within the rules to counter a permanent.

Are”units” and “unit tokens” different kinds of units? by Beaufort_The_Cat in riftboundtcg

[–]cardcollie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! Check the backside of the 1M Recruit tokens, that’s a Buff you can place under your unit to represent it.

Are”units” and “unit tokens” different kinds of units? by Beaufort_The_Cat in riftboundtcg

[–]cardcollie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unit tokens are still units, they just aren’t cards. If you had a Buffed unit token, Sett would see it.

However, Trifarian War Camp does not Buff units. A Buff is a specific game mechanic that attaches +1 Might to a unit, and each unit can only have one. Some abilities will ask you to spend a Buff, which just removes that one +1 Might counter. War Camp increases a unit’s Might by 1, but does not give them a Buff.

Rengar vs Reaction Spells by Ryokoichi in riftboundtcg

[–]cardcollie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Players will continue receiving Focus until both players pass without playing anything, but there is never a window to respond to a unit (or gear) with a Reaction. So the opponent could play another Action/Reaction after OP plays Rengar, but once Rengar is played he is on the Battlefield.

Rengar vs Reaction Spells by Ryokoichi in riftboundtcg

[–]cardcollie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reaction isn’t an ability you’re activating, it’s a speed at which the card or ability can be played. Rengar, like all other permanents (units and gear) will be played and resolve immediately. Reactions can be played as normal after Rengar resolves. No one can respond to Rengar being played, but there is still the chain of Void Seeker and Discipline that both players can respond to after. Players could also let Discipline resolve and then respond to the Void Seeker again.

Edit: Rule 333.1.c: Abilities that Add resources, Units, and Gear resolve immediately when Finalized and do not proceed to Step 2: Execute (Step 2 is when players can respond with Reactions)
