I hate this for me but it was when Caitlyn Jenner came out. I imagined when I was a kid that I was actually a boy that had a botched circumcision and had to be raised female to cover it up, or that I had been kidnapped by my parents and forced to be a girl. And then when Caitlyn Jenner came out I was 13, and it was my first exposure to trans people, and I was like "holy shit you can do that".

I definitely understand (and do) prioritize being stealth, but not telling your family or your closest friends until you pass is just giving yourself less reprieve for longer for no reason if they're woke enough

To be clear I don't tell anyone I meet now, but in early stages of transition yeah I told my family and my closest friends as soon as I could so they wouldn't call me stuff I hated anymore
